San Jose Police Arrest Fourth Suspect For 2021 Homicide

The San Jose Police Department announced it has arrested a fourth suspect in connection with a 2021 homicide near San Jose State University. SJPD identified Dante Disburke, 21, Jvontay Davidson, 21, Quenyshi Blacksher, 20, and Anjali Patel, 24, for their alleged roles in a shooting that left one man dead. On April 24, 2021, SJPD responded to a call of a person shot on 88 East San Carlos Street. When officers arrived, an adult man was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound and was declared deceased at the scene. The fatal shooting would mark the city’s 14th homicide of 2021. SJPD was able to locate and arrest Disburke, Blacksher, and Patel on May 4, 2021. Disburke was charged with homicide, and Blacksher and Patel were charged with being an accessory after the fact.

San Jose Police Investigating 18th Traffic Death This Year
|
Another person has died walking the streets of San Jose. This time, the person died after a hit-and-run. The hit-and-run happened near the intersection of South White Road and Coldwater Drive around 4:30 p.m. Paramedics rushed the pedestrian to the hospital, where he later died. There is no information about the car involved, but it is the 10th pedestrian death this year alone in San Jose.

Man Injured In San Jose Shooting: Police

The San Jose Police Department is investigating after a man was shot Sunday afternoon. The shooting took place in the area of Felipe Avenue and Olinder Court. Police said the male victim was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. San Jose police said just before 4 p.m. that the victim stabilized at the hospital and is expected to survive. No other details have been released at this time.

Police responded to a scene of a stabbing on Sunday in the area of 400 block Sands Drive, officials report. One adult male was found stabbed with life-threatening injuries, as stated in a tweet by San Jose Police Media Relations. Police tweeted an update around 1:49 p.m. saying the victim is stabilized and expected to live.

The San Jose Police Department seized two guns Friday night at a traffic stop, the department announced. The increasing number of illegally possessed firearms being seized is an “epidemic” and is happening “almost daily,” according to San Jose police. Aside from two guns, officers found a bag of marijuana, a bottle of Patron Tequila, and thousands of dollars in cash at the traffic stop. Police did not announce whether or not they arrested any individuals who were in possession of those items.

San Jose Cat Killer’s Early Release Upsets Former Neighbors

Cambrian Park residents who harbor vivid memories of neighborhood cats disappearing and turning up mutilated during a disturbing two-month stretch in 2015 are upset and grappling with the early jail release this week of the man convicted for those animal killings. Robert Roy Farmer was discharged from the Elmwood men’s jail Tuesday, according to authorities. He was issued a 13-year jail sentence in July 2017.

South Bay Volleyball Coach Arrested For Alleged Inappropriate Relationship With Minor

A high school volleyball coach in the South Bay has been arrested for an alleged inappropriate relationship with an underage player. A young woman told police she was involved in a relationship with the coach, Jared Washington, from 2012 to 2015. At the time Washington, 39, was coaching a San Jose volleyball club team called the Stingrays. Investigators have since found other victims and witnesses.

San Jose Man Charged With Possession Of Child Pornography

A city of Campbell maintenance worker appeared in federal court Tuesday to face child pornography possession charges, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. Brian Risso, 61, of San Jose, is charged with a single count of possession of child pornography. He is alleged to have possessed 513 images and 29 videos of child pornography on his personal Apple iMac, according to a criminal complaint filed last month.

Sunnyvale: Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Homicide

A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of shooting another man Friday morning in Sunnyvale, police said. Officers were called to the 600 block of Lakehaven Drive just before 10 a.m. for a report of a shooting, the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety said in a news release. They arrived to find a 38-year-old man suffering from a bullet wound to his left lower leg. The man’s injury was described as not life-threatening.

A study by researchers at the University of Michigan from the early months of the pandemic found incidents of violence among domestic partners did not increase overall, but the nature of the attacks in some cases was more severe. Santa Clara County Public Health Officer Dr. Sara Cody made the announcement Tuesday but clarified that her office still is recommending masks in certain indoor settings because there are people still at risk and because long COVID is a concern.
