Start a Fundraiser for Project Sunshine
Project Sunshine
Date/Time: Ongoing project
Location: Your own location
Ages: Good for volunteers of all ages!
Time Commitment: Varies, depending on your fundraising project
Being hospitalized as a child is hard; being hospitalized as a child right now is devastating. Kids need to play. Kids learn through play, express through play, and relax through play. And for hospitalized kids, play enables their bodies and minds to heal. Play normalizes unfamiliar settings and helps build resiliency – leading to better health outcomes. For over 20 years, Project Sunshine has been delivering the healing power of play in-person – alleviating the stress of hospital stays and medical procedures while promoting key aspects of childhood like socialization, creative expression, intellectual stimulation, and sensory integration. Your support will allow us to deliver our mission, innovate our programs, and ensure that all children facing medical challenges have the opportunity to experience the healing power of play, no matter what the future has in store. Project Sunshine relies on the generosity of individuals to fuel our mission. Our programs are always 100% free to the patients, families and hospitals we serve. Learn more here.

Street to Beach Clean Ups
Pacific Beach Coalition
Date/Time: At your convenience
Location: Choose a beach near you or click here to ‘adopt’ an available beach
Ages: Great for the whole family
Time Commitment: Varies
Grab a bucket and trash bag, and Adopt-a - Spot with the Pacific Beach Coalition. Click here for a list of beaches and to sign up to adopt a beach. Your family can also cleanup around your neighborhood, at the beach, in a needy area, or anywhere. Neighborhood and street cleanups are fun and rewarding outdoor activities. Picking up litter from the streets keeps it from flowing into the ocean via our storm drains. We are finding lots of litter, plastic bags, wrappers, disposable gloves, masks and food containers on our beaches and throughout the neighborhoods. Pacific Beach Coalition is also restarting our monthly beach clean ups. Click here to check the cleanup dates and more information for your favorite beach!
