Good morning. My name is Gabe Moya, a Chaplain with the University of Virginia Health System where I just spent some time visiting with your friend, Mr. Joseph Akers. He is doing well enough but it eager to move on to the next phase of his healing process. Mr. Akers asked that I communicate the following message to you and the other friends who are copied in this message.
Mr. Akers asked me to communicate the following:
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers . Due to my lack of strength and limited range of motion, it is difficult to make and receive phone calls. Staff, if they are able, will help with this.
Recently, I was cleared for transfer to the National Rehabilitation Hospital in D.C., but that has been put on pause due to a temperature high enough to prevent the transfer. The medical team wants to keep me here as a precaution and as they come to understand the source of the high temperature. I do covet your prayers in this matter.
Additionally, while I appreciate cards and gifts directed to me, I am going to ask Pam Chapman to make arrangements with the Children's National Medical Center (CNMC) so that those gifts are redirected to benefit the children who are receiving care at CNMC.
Again, thank you all for your thoughts and prayers; I deeply appreciate it and you.

 Silky Smooth Dance Studio was started by owner Sandra Mason in April of 2007 to provide our Northern, VA residents as well as aspiring dancers with group classes that would develop the movement skills they need to advance their social dancing skills. We are aware of the various dance programs in the Metro area; however we manage to tailor our program to meet the needs of those students not as advanced. We offer Hand Dance workshops from basic to intermediate levels with the dynamic assistants that best help our students gain the physical and mental confidence needed to dance better.
