Irv Slosberg: Our Local Hero of the Month

This month, Silver Injury Law is proud to recognize Irving Slosberg as our Local Hero of the Month.

For nearly three decades, Irv has dedicated his life to improving roadway safety throughout Florida. His mission began after a devastating personal tragedy in 1996, when his 14-year-old daughter, Dori, was killed in a motor vehicle crash. Rather than allowing that loss to define him, Irv turned grief into action and became one of Florida's most influential advocates for traffic safety.

As a former Florida State Representative and founder of Dori Saves Lives, Irv has helped champion initiatives focused on seat belt use, teen driver education, distracted driving prevention, and roadway safety awareness. His efforts contributed to the passage of the Dori Slosberg Driver Education Safety Act, which has generated millions of dollars to support driver education programs in schools across Florida.

Today, through educational programs, school safety assemblies, and public awareness campaigns, the foundation continues to educate young drivers and families about making safe choices behind the wheel.

At Silver Injury Law, we share Irv's belief that preventing crashes is just as important as helping victims after they occur. His lifelong commitment to saving lives and making Florida's roads safer has had a lasting impact on countless families throughout Palm Beach County and beyond.

Thank you, Irv, for your dedication to traffic safety and for making our community a safer place for everyone.

The 100 Deadliest Days Have Begun: What Drivers Need to Know

The period between Memorial Day and Labor Day is often called the "100 Deadliest Days" because traffic fatalities tend to increase during the summer months. With more teen drivers out of school, increased tourism, holiday travel, and busy beach traffic, Palm Beach County roads can become especially crowded and dangerous.

Common causes of summer crashes include distracted driving, speeding, impaired driving, and driver inexperience. Afternoon thunderstorms and increased pedestrian and bicycle activity can add to the risk.

Summer Driving Safety Tips

  • Put your phone away while driving.
  • Obey speed limits and allow extra travel time.
  • Never drive impaired.
  • Watch for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists.
  • Talk with teen drivers about safe driving habits.

A few simple precautions can make a big difference. By staying alert and making safe choices behind the wheel, we can all help reduce accidents and keep Palm Beach County roads safer this summer.

At Silver Injury Law, we encourage everyone to make safety a priority during the 100 Deadliest Days—and all year long.

E-Bikes Are Changing How Palm Beach County Travels—Are We Ready?

If you've noticed more e-bikes around Boca Raton and throughout Palm Beach County, you're not alone. From students riding to school to adults commuting, exercising, or running errands, electric bicycles have become an increasingly popular way to get around.

E-bikes offer many benefits, including convenience, affordability, and a fun alternative to driving. However, their growing popularity also brings new safety challenges for riders, motorists, and pedestrians.

Unlike traditional bicycles, many e-bikes can travel at speeds of 20 mph or more. As a result, drivers may have difficulty judging how quickly an e-bike is approaching an intersection or crossing a roadway. Riders, meanwhile, may be less visible than larger vehicles and are especially vulnerable in a collision.

Safety Tips for Drivers

  • Check carefully for cyclists before turning or changing lanes.
  • Give riders plenty of room when passing.
  • Stay alert near bike lanes, parks, schools, and residential neighborhoods.

Safety Tips for E-Bike Riders

  • Wear a properly fitted helmet.
  • Obey traffic signs and signals.
  • Use lights and reflective gear when riding at night.
  • Avoid distractions such as phones or headphones while riding.

A Shared Responsibility

As e-bike use continues to grow, safety depends on everyone sharing the road responsibly. Whether you're behind the wheel, on an e-bike, or walking through your neighborhood, awareness and courtesy can go a long way toward preventing accidents.

At Silver Injury Law, we believe that education is one of the best tools for improving traffic safety. By understanding the unique challenges that come with new forms of transportation, we can help make our roads safer for everyone.

At Silver Injury Law We Have Been Known to Walk "The Last Mile"

At Silver Injury Law we've been known to walk the "last mile" for our clients meaning that, when liability is uncertain or disputed, we will literally walk the "last mile" on the roadway before an accident happened so that we can see what the other motorist should have seen but didn't. We are mindful that, while we will move on to the next case, our clients only have one case so we conduct our own investigations to turn over every stone so that Justice can be allowed to prevail. Absolutely nobody is as thorough as me and my team in our pursuit of justice. - Bruce Silver Esq.
