New Christian Formation with Fr. Donavan
|
New Adult Christian Formation Class begins
THIS SUNDAY, January 26th:
Credo: What the Creeds say today & where they come from
This year, 2025, is the 1,700th Anniversary of one of the most important parts of our Christian worship each and every Sunday, the Nicene Creed. In this new class, lead by Fr. Donavan, we will take a deep dive into both the Nicene and the Apostles Creed, seeking to better understand what the Creeds actually profess and the where and why they were developed for the early church in the first place. Find out about the early controversies and heresies which brought about the need for creeds and the inevitable further controversies and divisions the creeds caused in the Western and Eastern Church. Join Fr. Donavan in the Parish Hall at 9:30am this Sunday!

New BCP's and Updated Bulletins
|
NEW WORSHIP BULLETINS ARE COMING:
Get a First Look this Sunday in the Parish Hall!
Fr. Donavan plans to unveil the new, updated worship bulletins this Sunday between the two morning services during breakfast in the Parish Hall! These new bulletins will return St. Thomas to using the Book of Common Prayer more frequently again each and every Sunday. We will still have readings, special music, and special prayers in our Sunday bulletins, but we are returning to a Pre-COVID worship layout, when only the Prayer Book page numbers were included for the Sunday Eucharist. This return to using our Prayer Books again is supported by both the St. Thomas Creation Care Committee, as well as our Finance Committee, cutting paper use of every bulletin from 8 or more pages each Sunday to only 2! We also have over 50 BRAND NEW PRAYER BOOKS, thanks to memorial donations and gifts, to add to our pews and take the place of older, damaged BCPs. Be sure to come early or stay late to get ready for the first use of the new bulletins coming up on Sunday, February 2.

This Sunday, and every Sunday, at 5pm in the Nave, you are invited to the "Come As You Are" Holy Eucharist at St. Thomas. The 5pm Holy Eucharist features joyful hymns from the Alleluia III hymnal, special gospel music chosen by our amazing pianist and organist, Sam Wright, and casual sermons preached from the floor. Phishing Scams continue: Please know that you will NEVER receive texts or emails from Fr. Donavan, Mtr. Katie, Dcn. Jeannie, Dcn. Dave, or any church staff asking you for money or gift cards. This has become a very common phishing scam for churches around the country, and it has increased in frequency here at St. Thomas, especially with both emails and texts claiming to be from Fr. Donavan, over the last month. If this happens to you, please do not respond to the communication and if you have questions, please contact the church office.
