D'VAR TORAH

D'Var Torah
for Parshiot Acharei Mot/Kidoshim

by Rabbi Gewirtz

to read  this week's  D'var Torah

INSIDE THE CLASSROOM

Kindergarten General Studies
Mrs. Kate Carptenter
kcarpenter@silveracademypa.org

In March and April, Kindergarten students explored a variety of books by Dr. Seuss. They read some books on their own, and I read four of his most famous books to the class. First we read Ten Apples Up on Top, followed by One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. Our third book was The Cat in the Hat. Then we read a longer book called Horton Hatches the Egg.

After we finished each of these books, students created individual graphs to rate the books on a scale of 0 - 10. Then we added up the individual scores for each book and recorded the results on a big class graph.

Now we have finished our fifth and final book: Horton Hears a Who. Which of these five books will emerge as Kindergarten's favorite Dr. Seuss book? The results will be posted on our hallway bulletin board!
