Stampede Grand - July 11th

This year the Stampede Grand Shoot was a dual NSCA & CNSCA as well as a Fun Shoot. We had 52 shooters shooting 120 targets. The shoot was European Style, with start times 20 minutes apart. There was no meal or prize presentation on the day of the shoot, however a video announcement of the winners was posted on our Facebook page.

Congratulations to Bob Ferguson. With a HOA of 118/120.

Semi Automatic
Guns
semi-automatic shotgun  is a  shotgun  that is able to fire a shell after every trigger pull, without needing to manually chamber another round. These shoot guns use  gas blow back , or  recoil operation  to cycle the action, eject the empty shell, and load another round.
Many semi-automatic shotguns also provide an optional manual means of operation such as by  pump action  or a  charging handle .

Woodland Targets
A walk in the woods with your rifle......

Woodland Targets is a small family owned and operated business, aspiring to manufacture and sell a complete line of portable, reactive North-American-hunting-themed steel targets for your .22lr. We are also offering static-resettable-knock-down shotgun targets that will be available for sale in the near future.

The target surfaces on all our products are CNC laser cut from AR400
steel - with .22lr rimfire use only, their useful-life will span many generations. Our rimfire targets' reactive elements are balanced for standard velocity .22lr ammunition out to about 100 yards - so there is no need to walk downrange to reset them. Once you score a hit, simply shoot the paddle to reset it back to it's original position!

The targets come unpainted - complete with paddles, all paddles mounting hardware, and four detachable stand pieces (two for each target).
We decided not to paint them to save you money, as well as giving you the opportunity to paint them any way you like. As such, when you receive your targets expect to see some surface rust which has it's own unique appeal and in no way diminishes the performance or durability of the target.

Note: the only safe ammunition to use on these targets is .22lr.

For more information, webstore at www.woodlandtargets.ca or call Jason at 403-618-2246

The Fox
The Buck
Set of two is 280.00 - Fox and Buck.

The silhouettes are laser cut from 1/4 inch thick AR400 steel, the paddles are made from 3/8 inch thick AR400.

Blog Article - Luther Cutts

AUTHOR: LUTHER CUTTS, HEAD INSTRUCTOR (NSCA LEVEL 3), COMPETITOR

WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN AN INSTRUCTOR:

The demand for instructors in the shotgun sports is constantly increasing. It would appear that more and more people are recognizing the benefits of learning in a structured environment, and thereby advancing their shotgun skill sets faster and more efficiently.
Not all instructors, however, are created equal, and the informed consumer should be able to determine if a specific instructor is going to be a good fit for them. This is best determined by the client understanding what their expectations are – that is to say that the novice shooter who has done very little or no shooting will have different expectations when compared to the shooter who has been hunting birds for the past 30 years and now wants to learn a bit about shooting clay targets.

Farewell to Jack

It is with heart felt sorrow that we say good bye to Jack Hepburn. Jack was a longtime member and guide here at Silver Willow. He held a very special place in our hearts. His jovial spirit and willingness to guide groups and share his passion for shotgun shooting, was a blessing to us here at Silver Willow. He will be deeply missed by all of us. Jack passed away on June 20th 2020.
Cart Keys
We are asking all members to check your shooting vest & bags for our missing cart keys.
We would really appreciate if you have a key to return it to
Silver Willow the next time you are out shooting.
