Lawsuit filed against AG Labrador over initiative titles

The Idahoans for Open Primaries Coalition and Reclaim Idaho filed a lawsuit Monday against Attorney General Raúl Labrador, asking the Idaho Supreme Court to repeal and replace his assigned ballot titles to its proposed initiative.

Simplot to spend $150 million on fertilizer manufacturing process upgrades under settlement

The J.R. Simplot Company will spend about $150 million on waste processing upgrades at its Don Plant fertilizer manufacturing facility outside Pocatello, as part of a settlement with the U.S. Justice Department and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency after allegations that the company failed to properly identify and manage certain hazardous waste streams.

Groups file lawsuit against ‘abortion trafficking’ law

The Idaho Capital Sun: Several advocacy organizations and a civil rights attorney filed a lawsuit against Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador’s office Tuesday alleging a state law that criminalizes the act of transporting minors across state lines to obtain an abortion without parental consent violates constitutionally protected rights and is too vague to be enforceable.

NIC has 90 weeks to address accreditation concerns

Idaho Education News: North Idaho College will remain accredited — for now. In what the college is calling a “neutral decision,” a regional panel is keeping the community college’s accreditation intact, but NIC will continue to operate under the shadow of a “show-cause” designation. In other words, college officials still have to convince the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities that NIC should be accredited for the long haul.
