Hi Aditi,,

As we gear up for the next chapter in Columbia’s future, I'm reaching out to provide an update on the great work we're doing to build a brighter future for Columbia. Presidential campaigns and federal issues may dominate the headlines, but it’s our local elections that truly shape our community every single day.

Since my first term began, we've been hard at work delivering results as promised. Together, we have:

• In the 2022-2023 Fiscal year alone, we welcomed over $562,877,390 in development to Columbia
• Launched Rapid Shelter Columbia and secured over $500 thousand for homelessness initiatives, with 48 individuals successfully transitioned out of the program so far
• Instituted processes for annual reviews of city-funded organizations and staff
• Launched Food Truck Fridays with over 30 food trucks to date
• Provided summer camp for over 1,500 kids in our community
• Recognized and highlighted Columbia's first ever Black Maternal Health Week
• Improved city communications and branding for greater transparency and community engagement
• Provided a 4% raise for all new and veteran CPD officer to increase retention and recruitment of officers
• Led the effort 'Lock It Up Columbia' and passed South Carolina’s first ordinance on reporting lost or stolen firearms
• Secured a partnership with Dominion to provide access to 200+ acres of riverfront for the public
• Secured over $22 million in grant funding for two innovative projects that aim to revolutionize workforce development and advance battery technology
• Brought in over $2.5 billion in current and future investment and thousands of new jobs

And that’s just the start. I’m known for asking tough questions and working across diverse perspectives to get results for our city. None of this would have been possible without your support.

I’m deeply grateful for your belief in our vision for Columbia. Together, we can continue making a lasting impact on our community.

If I can ever be of service, please do not hesitate to reach out at 803-216-1948 or by clicking 'reply' to this email.

Sincerely,

Aditi Bussells
