Waste Management

Dear Neighbors,

We hope this message finds you comfortable in this history-breaking heat!

As part of our ongoing effort to improve our environment and the quality of life for SIncuidados residents, we're making some changes to how community waste is managed. An informed community is a happy community, so here's the "Scoop" on what's coming up!

At a recent Board meeting, a discussion was held regarding the recurring problem with our waste bins near the mailboxes. These bins, meant for general waste, are frequently filled with recyclable materials and contractor trash. On windy days, the overloaded bins can create an unsightly and inconvenient mess.

In light of this, the trash bins near the mailboxes will be removed and relocated to areas near the clubhouse/tennis court and close to the entrance of the trails. The move will not only alleviate the clutter around the mailbox area but also facilitate better waste management for our contractors and visitors frequenting these spots.

These updates are not just about making changes to where the bins are located but also about helping us become more conscious about waste and recycling. Solange Whitehead of the Scottsdale City Council says recycling is a simple yet effective way to reduce the amount of waste we send to landfill, conserve natural resources, and save energy. By separating recyclable materials like paper, plastic, glass, and metal, we can contribute significantly to creating a sustainable environment. Please keep this in mind when you dispose of your waste.

Thank you for your cooperation and support in maintaining our neighborhood's beauty and sustainability.

Responsible Pet Ownership

We all love our four-legged friends. They bring joy, companionship, and a sense of comfort to our community. Sometimes it's a challenge to ensure our pet's behaviors don't interfere with the enjoyment and safety of others in Sincuidados.

  • Pet Waste Management

Pet waste management may seem like a trivial matter. You might think it’s not a big deal to leave waste behind – after all, it decomposes, it's too hot out so it's just a small inconvenience to leave it behind, and no one will notice. But, pet waste, if not properly disposed of, can carry harmful parasites and diseases affecting both wildlife and humans. It also contributes to environmental pollution.

In an effort to encourage responsible pet ownership and keep our neighborhood clean and pleasant for everyone, we are installing at least two additional 'dog poop' receptacles. These new receptacles will be strategically placed within a reasonable distance from the mailboxes. However, they will be far enough away to ensure we don't have any unpleasant odors disturbing residents collecting their mail. Exact locations will be shared once the installation is complete.

  • Leash Control

Keeping our dogs on a leash while out and about in our community or on Lone Mountain is more than a courtesy - it's a measure that keeps each pet safe from potential dangers like fast-moving cars, aggressive animals, and harmful substances on the ground. In our effort to protect our desert home, keeping dogs on a leash can prevent them from disturbing or harming the plants and other wildlife.

Not everyone is comfortable around dogs and some may even have a fear of them. A leash helps ensure an owner can quickly and safely manage their dog's behavior. For these reasons, there are rules in place that require dogs to be on a leash in Sincuidados public areas and on Lone Mountain trails.

Your understanding and cooperation is appreciated. Together, we can ensure our neighborhood remains a beautiful, clean, and peaceful place for everyone to enjoy.

Keep Sincuidados beautiful.
