A bill that would bring publicly funded universal health care to California is heading to the Assembly floor, after passing through its last committee Thursday. Single-payer health care must not be confused with free health care – there’s nothing free about a government run health plan. It would be the biggest tax increase in state history.

The Chamber joins UCAN in support of the Small Business Recovery Act, which proposes to incentivize California banks to provide loans to small businesses adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
CHAMBER JOINS CALCHAMBER TO SUPPORT GOVERNOR ON UI LOAN DEBT
Budget Proposal
The El Dorado Hills Chamber joins the California Chamber of Commerce and other organizations in support of Governor Newsom’s budget proposal regarding the outstanding unemployment insurance (UI) loan from the federal government. We are glad that the Governor has proposed to pay $3 billion towards this outstanding UI debt.

NONPROFIT COVID-19 ECONOMIC IMPACT GRANT
Financial Relief for County's Nonprofits
American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) funds have been allocated to El Dorado County, and the Board of Supervisors has directed staff to launch a Non-Profit Grant program with the intent to assist the County’s non-profit organizations. 

All documentation is due by Friday, February 11, 2022.

2022 California & Federal Employment Posters
You must post a compliant Employment Poster in a conspicuous place in the workplace where all employees and applicants can see it. The poster also must include information about your workers’ compensation benefits, payday schedule and emergency contacts. You may need to order several to ensure that your business, branches and satellite offices are displaying the poster according to the law. Failure to comply can result in severe penalties and fines by the state of California. If any of your company’s workers are Spanish-speaking, you will need to order the Spanish version.
