Estimates from the Single Year 2020 National Survey of Children's Health are now available on CAHMI's Data Resource Center Interactive Data Query

The Data Resource Center for Child and Adolescent Health (DRC), a project of the Child and Adolescent Health Measurement Initiative (CAHMI), under a cooperative agreement with the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB), is excited to announce the release of the 2020 National Survey of Children’s Health (NSCH) Child and Family Health Measures. These national-level data estimates are available through the Interactive Data Query on childhealthdata.org! The 2020 NSCH includes data from 42,777 children ages 0-17 years.   For more information and resources on the NSCH, such as fast facts, guides to topics and questions, survey methodology and instruments, crosswalk of survey items, and more, please visit the DRC NSCH Overview page. There are also numerous resources available on HRSA MCHB’s webpage on the NSCH, including the NSCH Data Brief. Public use files for the NSCH are also available through the U.S. Census Bureau’s NSCH page.   The 2020 NSCH downloadable data sets and codebooks with constructed variables displayed in the DRC Interactive Data Query will be available in May 2022. The CAHMI is also excited to announce a new data resource coming soon. Utilizing data from the NSCH spanning 2016-2020, CAHMI will release data on the National Outcome and Performance Measures for the combined 2016-2020 NSCH on the DRC Interactive Data Query later this month.

New Issue Brief: Health Disparities and Health Equity The CAHMI is pleased to share a new issue brief that we developed titled, Health Disparities and Health Equity: Maximizing the Power of the National Survey of Children’s Health to Promote Social Justice Among the Nation’s Children. It demonstrates ways to use NSCH data as a resource for information on health-related disparities among the nation’s children.
