"Imagine the quintessential peach. It bears a bit of a blush, with a sunny yellow background. It’s symmetrical, about the size of a baseball, with a sweet smell. It yields to the gentle press of your thumb. When you find such a specimen, there’s only one thing you must do: Eat it immediately. And there’s only one way to eat this piece of fruit: right over your kitchen sink so the juices can drip down your hands and chin into an easily cleaned vessel. Farmers have a term for this. “They’re ‘sink’ peaches,” says 35-year-old Ben Scholl of Scholl Orchards in Bethlehem."
The above is an excerpt from a 2015 Edible Philly article beautifully written by local food writer Carrie Havranek and exquisitely photographed by Easton's own Adam Atkinson. You can read the full story here.
We love pulling it out every year because it reminds us why we love Peach Day so much... no bells and whistles, just a perfectly delicious day that celebrates one of summer's sweetest gifts. Read on for all the juicy details.

Breakaway Farms is pulling out all the stops for Peach Day this Saturday! We've got so much to talk about here... Farmer Nate has created 3 amazing peach sausages and another surprise.
Let's start with Honey Basil Peach & Goat Cheese Sausage.

Next up is Grilled Peaches & Herb Sausage - pasture raised pork, grilled local peaches, garlic & fresh rosemary. This one pairs well with additional grilled peaches or a summer peach salad!
If you like a little heat, you're gonna love the Peach Serrano Jack Sausage. This one features local peaches, Monterey jack cheese, & fresh Serrano peppers.
And last but not least, Breakaway is rolling out a Peachy Brisket Burger. This burger is made with 100% grass-fed beef brisket, oregano, local peaches, tangy Feta cheese and finely diced red onion. It's pre-seasoned with sea Salt and cracked black pepper. Simply grill and serve on a roll and top the burger with sliced peaches for fresh added flavor in place of lettuce/ tomato. According to John Hopkins Medicine 3-4 8oz cups a day could be just what the doctor ordered. Grab a bag of their freshly-roasted beans for the week in both whole bean and ground.

Ahh... nothing says August like Peaches and Cream! Don't leave Peach Day without a luscious scoop (or a pint to take home). We're pretty psyched about the Coconut Cream Pie ice cream too! And did we mention the Mint Chocolate Mammoth Sammies?
As far as we're concerned you're not doing summer right if you're not eating ice cream at least once a week!
