Learning Perseverance:
The Turtle & The Hare
Each month, Siqajan School focuses on a core value that guides student learning and interraction. This October, we explored perseverance—the determination to keep going when things are difficult.
Our students brought this value to life by acting out the classic story of the turtle and the hare. Through drama and discussion, they discovered that steady effort and perseverance matter more than natural talent alone. The turtle's patient determination reminded our young learners that challenges are opportunities to grow stronger, not reasons to give up.
Teaching core values alongside academics is essential to developing well-rounded students. These qualities—character, empathy, and leadership—will serve our students not only in their studies but throughout their lives.
