Picklesburgh Will Return This July
Picklesburgh returns Friday, July 15 through Sunday, July 17, 2022 for Downtown Pittsburgh’s beloved ‘Picklesburgh’ event. The PDP is actively working with the city to finalize a new footprint, but it is expected that this highly popular event will expand even further to accommodate anticipated crowds.

A massive array of dill-ectable products and foods will be central to all that is Picklesburgh, but the event will also have a lot more options for pickle fanatics to experience, from dozens of live music performances to other popular activities like Pickle Cocktails, Pickle Beer, Pickle Juice Drinking Contest, and an abundance of pickle-themed apparel, merch, and much much more. Vendors interested in participating can now apply online at: https://downtownpittsburgh.com/get-involved/vendor-opportunities/

Twice voted the #1 Specialty Food Festival in the US, this culinary and cultural celebration will, once again, fly the signature Heinz pickle balloon. As with prior activations, Picklesburgh will offer a unique space for festival-goers to linger, enjoy food, listen to music and relish the energy of the event.

Picklesburgh attracts tens of thousands of visitors every year, and we want to ensure that this year is the best yet,” said Jeremy Waldrup, president and CEO of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership. “As a signature event for the city and region, and with such a dedicated fan base in Pittsburgh, we’re always excited to share the news of its return. So, save the date and get ready for all the fabulous festivities, food, and fun – it’s really going Dill-iver!“

More details about the expanded 2022 event will be announced in the coming weeks.

Introducing Brian Broome
Introducing Brian Broome is a documentary by filmmaker Chris Ivey featuring Brian Broome, winner of the 2021 Kirkus Prize for nonfiction for Punch Me Up to the Gods. The film records intimate and raw conversations with fellow Black Pittsburgh writers as they all simultaneously reach fame. At times heartfelt, haunting, and often hilarious, Introducing Brian Broome brings together artistic writing greats all living in the same town, mostly all friends. It examines what it means to be a Black writer living in the rust belt today. What it means to suddenly be on the literary map, a map for which you’ve drawn the boundaries.

Featuring: Deesha Philyaw (National Book Award Finalist and Pen/Faulkner Award winner for The Secret Lives of Church Ladies) in conversation with Brian Broome about relationships and sex, Damon Young (Co-founder of Very Smart Brothas and acclaimed author of What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Blacker, winner of the Thurber Prize for American humor) in conversation with Brian Broome about masculinity and the villianization of homosexuality, and Citizen Artist Vanessa German (winner of the Don Tyson Prize) in a heartfelt and haunting conversation with Broome about an encounter with the police while taking photos in their blighted community. These stories and more make Introducing Brian Broome a poignant and engaging film for the 21st century. A true indie film experience about one of America’s newest writing greats!
Intended for mature audiences
