“May we walk in the garden of a purposeful life, our own powers in touch with the power of the world.” Mishkan T’filah*

Greetings!

Sowing Opportunities is excited to report that in 2022, under the guidance of the expert agricultural engineer, six tons of produce was harvested from the greenhouses of the participant families in Chajmaic.

END OF SEASON GIVING

Fund Our Impact

As we head to year-end, we have much to reflect on and be grateful for, including you, our community's incredible support. We are relying on your generous year-end contribution to continue growing and to further serve the communities that have no other resources.

Food security replacing hunger and malnutrition, and hope and a budding economy replacing poverty provide opportunities for healing. It is a true gift that the people who have had no access to their own land, now have a meaningful connection to the land, and are able to grow their own food, promoting their families' health and well-being.

Making a year-end donation is one way you can support the work of Sowing Opportunities. We also encourage you to sign up for monthly gifts ($25, $50, $100+) to ensure we can sustain our daily operations throughout the year, when we send our agricultural engineer and project manager back to the region. Thank you in advance for your ongoing support and generosity.

Giving benefits the givers by putting their values in alignment with life.

LOOKING AHEAD

In January 2023, our agricultural engineer and project manager will arrive in the northeast sector of Alta Verapaz, along the Franja Transversal del Norte highway to provide resources for greenhouse farming in two indigenous, remote communities in which men, women and youth have emerged as leaders.

Sowing Opportunities' two additional proposed projects are

to purchase a 20 meter x 40 meter plot of land and build a dwelling so as to have a home base in the area that includes housing the team as well as emergency housing for the village’s most vulnerable, during hurricanes and flooding, and

to obtain a reliable source of energy and filtration for the water accessibility infrastructure.

Donations have made Sowing Opportunities' work in the region possible. 100% of every donation goes towards the project. We are grateful for your support!
