Happy Mother's Day

May 10, 2026

Mission Statement

Our Vision Friends and neighbors joyfully sharing and living the Gospel and the transforming love of Jesus Christ through our Parish Family

Our Mission To invite and welcome people of all ages, backgrounds and walks of life to embrace and celebrate our vocations.  "To be Christ to the world.”

I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

In a little while the world will no longer see me,

but you will see me, because I live and you will live.

On that day you will realize that I am in my Father

and you are in me and I in you.

~John 14

From Our Pastor

"Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, we turn to you, O Virgins of virgins, our Mother. To you we come, before you we stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, do not despise our petitions, but in your mercy hear us and answer us.  Amen."

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

On this Sixth Sunday of Easter we wish Mom a Happy Mother's Day!

At each Mass today, we will have a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary near the altar and begin with a May Crowning. Volunteers are welcome and needed for the entrance procession.

The Virgin Mary was conceived without sin from the very moment of her Immaculate Conception. This plan of God's love for humanity would come about through Mary's Fiat" - her "Yes" to God and God's "Yes" to us!

As described in the Gospel of Luke, the Angel Gabriel would tell Mary not to be afraid because the Holy Spirit would overshadow her and that she would conceive and bear the Son of God who would be named Jesus. "I am the handmaid of the Lord" she would say. "Let it be done according to your word.” At that moment, Mary became, according to Saint Paul, the new "Eve" who would bring new hope from her perfect "yes" to God for a world suffering and separated from God.

When the infant Jesus was joyfully brought by Joseph and Mary to the Temple, the prophet Simeon predicted that the day would come in which the heart of Mary would be "....pierced by a sword of sorrow." Years later this would come to pass when Mary stood weeping at the foot of the cross of the dying Jesus. But before he died, Jesus entrusted his Mother to the Apostle John, and John to his Mother Mary and, ultimately, His Mother to us.

Death would be conquered by Jesus’ resurrection. The stone of the tomb rolled away to fulfill an Easter promise for all humanity...everything according to the plan of God!

When we reflect on the role of Blessed Mary in the life of Christ, it is amazing to consider that Mary really is the Mother of Jesus, the Mother of God and our heavenly Mother too.

For kindness, love and sacrifices made, may God bless our mothers both

living and deceased.

May God bless you!
