Peace Pole
Vida, Riley, Chloe, Rio, Grace, Hannah, and Violet are parishioners of Assumption Parish and active Girl Scouts. They worked together to give Assumption a message of hope. On Sunday, April 28, they presented a "Peace Pole," which is an internationally recognized symbol of the hopes and dreams of the entire human family. It stands vigil in silent prayer for peace on Earth. The Peace Pole bears the message, "May Peace Prevail on Earth," in eight different languages: Italian, French, Gaelic, Tagalog, Spanish, Latin, Polish, and English. We thank them for this precious gift, a reminder for all of us to be peacemakers. Thank you!

Message from our Sister Parish in Turkana
Dear Sister Parish St. Boniface,
Peace and all that is good. We warmly received the lovely greetings and best wishes on our feast of St. Mark, and we too extend our Easter greetings to the entire community of St. Boniface. As we usually offer Mass for you every third week of the month, we feel very honoured and loved as you also remember us at the altar.
My schedule has been busy with several seminars, some for spiritual nourishment, others for holistic development. We are forming a group for young men and women, have held a four day Catechists' Retreat, and had a visit from our Superior. The last wire of funds you sent to us in the month of January has changed the face of Lokitaung. We have put a protective chain link fence around the church and a roundabout where we intend to put the statue of St. Mark.
We continue to remain very appreciative and promise to always remain united in prayers. Happy Easter once again.
Sincerely,
Sister Parish of St. Mark in Lokitaung, Turkana, Kenya
