Bidding process for the Skål International Congress 2026

Any Skål International Club that has met all financial and administrative obligations may bid to host the world congress. 

Exceptionally, the deadline for submitting the Congress Bid for the 2026 Skål International World Congress has been extended this year to 15 July 2024, as approved by the Executive Board.

The bid must meet the stipulations outlined in the New Congress Manual revised and updated by the Congress Committee and must be submitted through the online application form below:

New selection procedure

• The Executive Board will select two of the proposals received. In the event of a tied vote of the Executive Board, the corresponding number of bids will be submitted to the Skål International Clubs for final selection. 

• These proposals will be announced and shared with the membership 55 days prior to the Annual General Assembly. 

• Proposals will be included in the same ballot as the elections of Officers for an electronic vote by all Skål Clubs. Full information on the election procedure will be provided nearer the date. 

• The destination selected by membership will be announced during the 2024 Annual General Assembly to be held in Izmir, Türkiye, on 18 October 2024 and will be invited to make a presentation.

Proceso de candidatura del Congreso Mundial de Skål International 2026

Cualquier Club de Skål International que haya cumplido con todas sus obligaciones financieras y administrativas puede presentar su candidatura para albergar el Congreso Mundial.

Excepcionalmente, el plazo para presentar la candidatura al Congreso Mundial de Skål International 2026 se ha ampliado este año hasta el 15 de julio de 2024, tal y como aprobó la Junta Directiva.

La candidatura debe cumplir las estipulaciones descritas en el nuevo Manual de Congresos revisado y actualizado por el Comité del Congresos, y que deberá presentarse a través del formulario que indicamos a continuación:

Nuevo procedimiento de selección

• La Junta Directiva seleccionará dos de las propuestas recibidas. En caso de empate en la votación por la Junta Directiva, se presentará el número correspondiente de propuestas a los Clubs de Skål International para la selección final.

• Estas propuestas serán anunciadas y compartidas con los miembros 55 días antes de la Asamblea General Anual.

• Las propuestas se incluirán en la misma papeleta que las elecciones de directores para una votación electrónica por parte de todos los Clubs de Skål International. Se proporcionará información completa sobre el procedimiento de elección cuando se acerque la fecha.

• El destino elegido por los miembros será anunciado durante la Asamblea General Anual de 2024 que se celebrará en Izmir, Turquía, el 18 de octubre de 2024 y será invitado a realizar una presentación.
