Florimond Volckaert Fund Silent Auction in Croatia
The Florimond Volckaert Fund (FVF) is established in honour of the founder of Skål International, Florimond Volckaert, to provide an international support tool for members and their families in difficult economic times.
The funds available for grants come from voluntary contributions from individual Skålleagues, clubs and National/Area Committees, encouraging with these donations a spirit of solidarity and international cooperation among Skål International members. We may even describe it as "an insurance" of a Skål International member.
Since its inception in 1953 the fund has helped so many members. In recent years, donations declined dramatically -80%, whereas grants increased staggering +185%. Obviously, the fund needs help.
We are organizing a Silent Auction in Croatia with the purpose of supporting our beloved FVF. We 'd like to collect items or vouchers from our members or non-members who would like to give a hand.
There are two ways of boosting Silent Auction:
- You can bring or send with someone an item to Skål International World Congress in Rijeka & Opatija (Croatia) in october 2022. It doesn't matter what it is, but the market value must be a minimum $100.
- You can send an official complimentary service letter (i.e. a free weekend at a hotel or one week's car hire etc). A sample voucher can be provided by the Committee.
For more information, please contact Asuman Tariman, Vice President International Skål Council.
Let's support our Florimond Volckaert Fund!
We all may need some day. Who knows?
