SKÅL INTERNATIONAL ANNUAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS AND VOTING PROCEDURE 2024

Dear Skålleagues,

We are pleased to announce the candidates standing for the Skål International elections, as well as providing the guidelines for Skål International Clubs to cast their votes, both for the elections prior to the Annual General Assembly, and voting on the meeting agenda items.

All candidates have been vetted by the Elections’ Committee and approved by the Executive Board.

SKÅL INTERNATIONAL EXECUTIVE BOARD

PRESIDENT 2025

FOR VICE PRESIDENT 2025/PRESIDENT ELECT 2026

*The candidate receiving the highest number of votes will become Vice President for 2025 and President Elect for 2026. 

*The candidate with the second-highest number of votes will continue to serve as the Director of his Region in 2025, with his current Deputy Director also remaining in position.

*Election by global membership.

FOR DIRECTOR & DEPUTY DIRECTOR

*The candidate with the highest number of votes will serve as the Director of the respective Region, while the runner-up will assume the role of Deputy Director.

*Elections by Region.

Note: The current Directors of Regions 7, 8, 11, 13 and 14, who were elected for a two-year term (2024-2025) will remain in their roles, as will their Deputy Directors. However, Region 8 will operate without a Deputy Director until the end of the current Director’s term of office (31 December 2025) due to the vacancy occurred and the absence of nominations.

CANDIDATES' FORUM

Regions that are required to elect a new Director this year are responsible for organising virtual forums to present their candidates, which should be scheduled 20 to 30 days before the virtual elections.

ELECTIONS AND ANNUAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY VOTING PROCEDURE

ELECTIONS

• The elections of Vice President/President Elect, Directors, Auditors and Membres d’Honneur, as well as the selection of the 2026 World Congress site and Skål Club of the Year 2023-2024 will be conducted by electronic vote via ElectionBuddy online voting software.

• The voting ballot will be sent by e-mail to the voting delegates on Monday 30 September 2024 and a 48-hour window to vote allowed, 36 hours should a second ballot be required. 

• Results will be verified by the appointed scrutineers and kept confidential until official announcement at the Annual General Assembly to be held in Izmir, Türkiye, on 18 October 2024.

ANNUAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY VOTING PROCEDURE

• Approval of reports, accounts, budget, proposal for membership fee increase, Statutes amendments, reconfirmation of 2025 Congress site and any other item included in the agenda will also be done virtually via Election Buddy to allow all Skål Clubs worldwide the opportunity to vote.

• The voting ballot will be sent by e-mail to the voting delegates at the opening of the Annual General Assembly on 18 October 2024 and a 24-hour window to vote allowed.

• Results will be verified by the appointed scrutineers and included in the minutes.

VOTING DELEGATES

• The voting delegates confirmed by the Skål International Clubs will remain the same for both the elections preceding the Annual General Assembly and the voting on AGA items.

• All Skål International Clubs are entitled to vote, regardless of whether their voting delegates attend the AGA in person.

• Voting delegates should keep an eye on their mailbox on 30 September and 18 October 2024 to ensure they cast their votes.
