As I traveled to our Mid-Year meeting in Torremolinos, airports were packed with people rushing to gates, the excitement of travel in the air... Tourism is coming back! What a wonderful feeling that was and, Skål International was on the move!

Prof. Dr. Ruhet Genç, member of Skål International Istanbul, shares with us his academic work on Skål International, which he already presented at an International Tourism Conference in the USA and which was also published in a Scientific Journal of Tourism.

Doyen Tourism Professional Mümtaz Göztepe, who has lived in Bodrum for many years and is one of the doyens of Turkish and regional tourism, passed away at the age of 77.
We are praying that his soul may rest in peace.

Future skills needs

Together, the leading associations within the tourism and hospitality industries are conducting research that will provide valuable insights into the future skills needs of the industry.

The responses collected will be used to inform the training and education sectors of the industry, and to provide insights into current industry thinking on professional development. This is one of the most comprehensive surveys undertaken and will help to address the current skills crisis and improve recruitment and retention in the hospitality industry.
