Community Action Spotlight: Kellyn Numair

Kellyn is a Human Services student at Skagit Valley Community College. This is her third quarter interning with Community Action’s Opioid Outreach Team. A former bartender, Kellyn has started a new career path. She utilizes her interpersonal skills along with knowledge gained at school to help the team. As a peer in mental health and substance use recovery, Kellyn brings a special level of empathy to our clients. In her role at Community Action, she helps provide essential needs, harm reduction tools, and information on accessing recovery & housing resources to our unsheltered population. Kellyn is a self-proclaimed “basic human rights activist at heart” and has appreciated Community Action for allowing her to grow into a Human Services professional. She is also grateful for the meaningful relationships she has established with clients and coworkers. She plans to graduate with her AAS in the Spring of 2023 and to continue on with her bachelors in the Fall.
