Fall is off to a great start! Registration continues for some fall programs for youth and adults, with limited openings remaining. Save the date of October 25 for Halloween Happenings. Tickets go on sale soon. For residents in financial need, scholarships are available for youth programs; read more below. For a listing of upcoming community events in September and October,
click here. The Stamford JCC has provided us with information on their
Inclusion Programs offered this fall.

Fall Adult Sports - Pickleball,
Volleyball & Platform Tennis
We have several opportunities for play for our pickleball enthusiasts.
Indoor Pickleball is offered on two days per week at the EGCC in Old Greenwich. Players can
drop-in to play at the BWGCC several days per week. Outdoor
Fall Pickleball is offered on Tuesdays at Loughlin Avenue Park in Cos Cob on the tennis courts.
Registration has begun for membership to play on our newly refurbished platform tennis courts. The
Paddle Tennis season is scheduled to begin September 28. You can purchase seasonal membership for three or six months.

Halloween Happenings
Our popular
Halloween Happenings event for children and their parents will be held on Friday, October 25 at the Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center. Tickets are limited, non-transferable, and will not be sold at the door. Registration begins
online for residents on Monday, September 23. Purchase your tickets early!

Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink
|
The Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink located at
Sue Merz Way is currently open for public skating on a limited basis. The full
public session schedule begins in October, as do ice skating lessons and hockey instruction.

Greenwich Recreation is a member organization of
NAYS. We provide free training through the NAYS website to our staff and volunteers and any resident interested in learning how to make sports better for youth. For more information on how to obtain free training, email the
Recreation Superintendent.

Scholarships for Youth
The Parks and Recreation Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to income eligible resident families for participation in youth activities.
Scholarship applications must be submitted a minimum of 3 weeks prior to the start of the program.

Thunder Ridge Ski and Snowboard Lessons
Once again, Greenwich Recreation is cooperating with Thunder Ridge Ski Area to offer ski and snowboard lessons at a discounted rate when registered through the Greenwich Recreation Office. Download the
registration information. Participants provide their own transportation to Thunder Ridge.

Cos Cob Community Preschool
There are a limited number of spaces available in the
Cos Cob Community Preschool 2019-2020 year which began September 9. Classes are held Monday-Friday, and will operate for a longer day from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at 54 Bible Street in Cos Cob. The Preschool is licensed by the State of CT and is reasonably priced. For information,

Greenwich Skatepark
Information is available for
Fall Skateboard Clinics which will be held on Tuesdays or Thursdays for ages 6 to 12 years old. Registration is on-going.
In Sept..and Oct. the Skatepark is open weekdays from 3:30 - 6 p.m. and weekends and school holidays from 12:30 - 6 p.m. Download a schedule of
hours and fees. The park is located at the foot of

Eastern Greenwich Civic Center
The EGCC has several on-going programs including Stroller Strides, Greenwich Archery, Wednesday Painters, Pickleball, and more. Call 203-637-4583 for open gym hours.

Bendheim Western Civic Center
Yoga classes and
Zumba classes are offered on several weekdays at varying times.
Boot Camp sessions are available Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Pickleball is offered for adults on a drop-in basis.

Greenwich Farmers' Market
The
Greenwich Farmers' Market is open for the season at the commuter parking lot on the corner of Arch Street and Horseneck Lane. The market will be held on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Remember to bring your reusable shopping bags.
Commuters, do not park in the first several rows adjacent to Arch Street on Saturday mornings!

Credit & Refund Policy
Credit requests for recreation program registration will be considered if received in writing prior to the start of the program. There is a $15.00 administrative fee for credits. The general policy of the Recreation Division is that we do not process refunds unless a program has been cancelled. Please read all registration information carefully and contact us prior to registering for a program if you have any questions.

Parks and Recreation Foundation
The
Greenwich Parks and Recreation Foundation was set up to receive donations, allowing the community citizens and businesses an avenue to donate to the Town of Greenwich Parks & Recreation projects and programs. The foundation is a 509 (a)(1).
