We were finally able to start preseason! Races were held Tuesday at Buck and Wednesday at Wild Mountain this week. All results are posted on the Ski Challenge website and have been sent in to NASTAR. We are still looking for more racers! Come on out next week and join a team or guest race.
Ski Challenge pacesetting trials are set for Monday, December 19 at Buck Hill and Wednesday, December 28 at Wild Mountain. If you have participated in these before, please plan on coming. If you consistently have a handicap below a 13, you are welcome to come.
It is not The Ski Challenge policy to cancel or postpone races, however, in the event of very severe weather, captains will be notified of cancellations. Only Captains should call the Ski Challenge office. Members should contact their team captain. We will also post any notifications on the website.
Joseph J. Rauscher began Joe's as a Buick repair garage in 1930. Many of his customers found a need for live bait, so Joe began to sell minnows. Soon the garage became known as Joe's Live Bait. The business really began to grow after World War II. On August 1, 1959, Joseph J. Rauscher sold the store to his son & daughter-in-law, Joseph D. and Loretta J. Rauscher. The ski business was added in October 1963........
Buck Hill has changed up the restaurant and catering for the upcoming season. The Black Diamond Restaurant and Bar opened this Fall. Buck Hill was looking for a restaurant that will enhance their amenities and guest experience by being open twelve months of the year. The Black Diamond will also service all of our Buck Hill Ski Challenge events.
Black Diamond owners Ryan and Jen McGunnigle also own Las Tortillas Mexican Restaurant in Rosemount. The Buck Hill owners had dined at Las Tortillas Mexican Restaurant many times and wanted a similar cuisine and beverage offering at Buck Hill.
