Self Defense Tip of the Week
How to Deal with
Low Light Attacks

Whether it is the early morning hours before sunrise or in the middle of the night under the ambient light of street lights our eyesight is not 100%. It takes time for our eyes to adjust especially after exiting a well lit area or building.

Attacks happening at night can be a bit difficult to handle. Trying to see the movement coming from the shadows, between parked cars, can be difficult. What can be harder is seeing what the person has in their hands!

Carrying a small tactical flashlight that has high lumens can not only help you see the person but also shinning the light in their face can cause enough temporary blindness to help you escape. Some of these tactical flashlights have an edged metal bezel (rim) around the light portion of the flashlight that you can use to strike if need be. Some Tactical lights are small enough to fit in your pocket.

Having a tactical light with you and knowing how to use it at night can possibly save your life.

Learn what it takes to defend yourself from the ground, in common life threatening situations. This workshop focuses on women's self defense techniques that are used if you have been knocked to the ground and/or an attacker is on top of you. These techniques are designed to help women deal with potentially dangerous situations.

Creating realism and adrenal response, self defense techniques will be practiced using full-contact against heavily padded attackers (role players) in a simulation training environment.

Firearms Training Tip of the Week

Do you and your significant other train in firearms? Are you both aware of each other’s abilities to handle the firearm you carry when out and about with each other. Your training should be on an individual basis and then brought together with your significant other as a team.

Part of your training with each other should include having a plan. What will we do WHEN something happens, not if it happens. Make a plan. This is part of team tactics. Just like SWAT Officers work on their individual skills they then need to come together and work as a team. This is where team cohesiveness is made. The more you practice together as a team you will see things come together. Then concentration on the task is clearer.

Fitness Tip of the Week
Breathing Exercise
Reducing Stress Through Deep Breathing

Powerful ways to control your mind and body during this stressful time is just as important as regular exercise, clean eating and sleep!

Watch this video as Drs. Neda Gould and Dana DiRenzo of John Hopkins School of Medicine walk you through this useful exercise. Deep breathing is an easy relaxation technique that can be practiced anywhere by anyone. Benefits include improved mental health, lung function, and blood pressure.
