Dear Church Family,

As we continue our month of prayer and seeking God’s direction, we are reminded that God is the potter and we are the clay. He has shaped us in His image and calls us to represent Christ to others and share His Word. One way our church has effectively done this in our community is bringing families with young children to know the Lord through our Skillman Child Development Center. Today, we share with you Skillman CDC Director Ruth Ann Prude’s perspective on the opportunity we have with The Hills.

Ruth Ann has met with leadership from The Hills, including directors of The Hills’ preschools and The Hills’ minister, toured their preschools, and provided them a tour of our CDC. Ruth Ann and the team from The Hills have all worked together to develop an extensive analysis to compare schedules, enrollment, staffing ratios, daily procedures, curriculum, databases and other important aspects. You can review the findings of the Advisory Committee here on pages 29-43.

Following the Town Hall Ruth Ann shared the following statement (click here), and today shares this video in support of The Hills opportunity:

It is important to know that the Binding Assurances signed by The Hills expressly conveys, in detail, their full support of Skillman’s CDC mission, budget, operations, and staff.

It is also important for you to know that we have taken great care in considering alternatives to the opportunity with The Hills. Through much prayer and thought, and through much conversation and consideration, we have evaluated other directions in which we may go. We share those thoughts with you. Please click here for our eldership’s evaluation of other proposed alternatives.

Our church is solely God’s vessel. As He shapes our future, we strongly believe that He is leading us to join with The Hills. It will allow us to help draw people to His word and nourish their faith. We encourage you to vote “Yes” on June 12 (or earlier, when your ballot and instructions arrive via mail), and to remember that what we have in front of us with The Hills will allow us to reach our full potential in our mission.

Let’s remain in prayer, focused on Jesus’ call to seek and save the lost and grow in our personal relationship with God.

In His Service,

Craig, Shane and David
