This Sunday! Skills Development 2nd Workshop!
Toronto Blues Society will be offering online (Zoom) & free workshop series, "Grants, Gigs & Getting It Done: Keys To Success", on April Sundays between 2pm-3:30pm EST, hosted by Rudi Quammie Williams (arts, culture, creative and business sector professional, Principal Consultant at The Wise Sage).

Each week will focus on a different topic & upcoming workshops are:
  • April 11: "Building a Community of Support - Navigate The Artists' Ecosystem"
  • April 18: "Revenue Generation"
  • April 25: "Artists as Entrepreneurs"

Downchild Celebrates 50th Anniversary
Recorded at the 2019 TD Toronto Jazz Festival, Downchild celebrates their 50th anniversary with this new album. It is available in CD and vinyl (which is their first vinyl release in over 30 years!). The special release features all-star guests including, Dan Aykroyd, Paul Shaffer, David Wilcox, Kenny Neal, Gene Taylor, Peter Jeffrey, and Erja Lyytinen. Plus, $5 from every CD sold will be donated to the Unison Fund. You can get your copy from Downchild's website.
CIUT FM Honours the Legacy of
Late John Valenteyn
After the upsetting passing of John Valenteyn last year, CIUT FM is preparing to honour his legacy with Andrew Galloway, Brooke Blackburn, Dr. Julie Hill, and Sugar Brown (aka Ken Kawashima) rotating weekly and keeping Valenteyn's and Blues spirit glowing up at the station. Upcoming Live Performances:

  • Whitehorse performs with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony at this live stream this Friday, April 9th at 8pm ET as part of "Pops" series. Tickets are at $15-$100. Click here for more info.   • Actual Live Music! Rob Lutes will be performing live at Le Zaricot Café Acoustique in Saint-Hyacinthe in QC on Saturday, April 10th at 7pm EST. Tickets are between $20-$25 and can be purchased here.

  • David Gogo will be live streaming from the Tidemark Theatre in BC on Saturday, April 10th at 10:30pm EST. Tickets are $15 for members and $25 for non-members. More info here.

  • Canadian Folk Music Awards will take place on Saturday, April 10th and Sunday, April 11th at 8pm EST. Julian Taylor, Sultans of String, and William Prince are among many performers.   • Actual Live Music! Samantha Martin will be performing at the Heartwood Concert Hall in Owen Sound on Friday, April 16th and Saturday, April 17th starting at 8:30pm EST. Tickets are between $35-$40 and only 50 seats available for each night. Click here for more info.


  • Cedric Burnside will go live from his front porch in Mississippi on Thursday, April 22nd at 9pm ET. Tickets are $12 USD and can be purchased here

  • Suzie Vinnick  will live stream for free as part of the OSAC Virtual Concert Series on Thursday, April 22nd at 9pm ET. More info here.

  • Terra Lightfoot will be live streaming from the Horseshoe Tavern as part of their "Hootenanny" series on Friday, April 30th at 7:30pm EST. Tickets are between $19.03 - $22.12 and can be purchased here.   • Julian Taylor Band will be live streaming from the Horseshoe Tavern as part of their "Hootenanny" series on Saturday, May 1st at 7:30pm EST.   • Whitehorse will be streaming from Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts on Saturday, May 8th at 8pm ET. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here.

  • Lance Anderson’s tribute to The Last Waltz, presented by Hugh’s Room Live will be streaming on Saturday, May 8th at 8pm ET to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the band. The date is currently tentative. Tickets are $15-$20 and can be purchased here(Recently postponed to this date as per newly announced further restrictions for Ontario.)

  • Brian Blain will be live streaming on Sunday, May 9th at 7pm ET in honour of Mother's Day. Show will be on artist's Facebook page.

  • Sandra Bouza will go live from the Empire Theatre on Saturday, May 15th at 8pm EST. Admission is Pay-What-You-Can and free registration is available through artist's website. (Recently postponed to this date as per newly announced further restrictions for Ontario.)

  • Durham County Poets will be performing on Sunday, June 19th at 7pm ET at Stone Crop Acres Winery & Vineyard in Morrisburg, Ontario. Tickets are at $20 and more info will be released soon.

  • Actual Live Music! 1000 Islands Blues Fest will be taking place between August 19-21 in Brockville, Ontario featuring MonkeyJunk, Harpdog Brown, JW-Jones and many more. Camping packages start at $199. Click here for more info.

  • Actual Live Music! Women of Soul & Blues will take place on Sunday, August 29th at 3pm ET featuring Shakura S'Aida, Suzie Vinnick, Joy Lapps, Roxanne Potvin, and Lori-Anne Van Morsel. The event will take place at Stone Crop Acres Winery & Vineyard in Morrisburg, Ontario starting at 3pm. Tickets are between $40-$60 and could be purchased here.
