Days are getting longer. Temperatures are warming. Is your skin ready for spring? Here are two common problems, and some easy solutions!
Problem: Uneven skin color
If your skin is marked by sun spots or marred by broken blood vessels, now is the time to show your skin who's boss. With an IPL photo-facial, you can even out your skin color and be all set for spring. An IPL photo-facial takes less than 30 minutes, requires no downtime, and results are noticeable in a matter of days. It can be used on the skin of the face, neck, chest, arms and legs, and can improve the following conditions:
- Brown spots
- Sun damage
- Broken capillaries
- Rosacea
- Inflammation and redness associated with acne

Problem: Uneven Skin Texture
If your skin color is "even steven" but the peaks and valleys of your nasolabial folds and marionette lines are causing unwanted protrusions and undesired ruts, 2017's new smooth-surfacing fillers may be just what the doctor orders to get your skin ready for spring.
And, for those with depressions due to fat "missing" from areas around the eyes, temples and tear troughs, there is Allofill. Scheduled to be available in New York at the end of the month, Allofill is an injectable fat allograft that can be used immediately (without the need for a separate fat harvesting procedure) to volumize those areas around the eyes. And, unlike hyaluronic acid which can leave obvious traces of injection, Allofill promises natural results.
But, for those whose fat causes protuberances (as opposed to depressions), XAF5 is a material found in glaucoma drugs (deja vu Allergan and Latisse!?) that was found to bind to fat cells and cause them to release their fatty acids. Research is underway on XAF5 used topically in the under eye area. There is hope that XAF5 may be able to be level out under-eye bags without surgery.
