SkyWest Enhanced Internship Program
|
SkyWest Airlines and McAir Aviation Have Joined Forces to Open the Door to Your Professional Pilot Career!! The SkyWest Airlines/McAir Aviation Bridge Program is the first of its kind and designed to offer you unique career opportunities at SkyWest Airlines. The joint partnership between SkyWest and McAir has potential to help you rapidly advance your goal of becoming a Professional Pilot at a very well known and respected airline. Once qualified, McAir students will have the opportunity to enter the Enhanced Internship Program (EIP) with SkyWest Airlines. Upon acceptance into the program, you'll receive preferential consideration for employment at SkyWest Airlines. The intent of the EIP is to create a path for you to bridge the gap between the completion of your Flight Instructor Certification (CFI) and the 1,500-hour flight time requirement for the Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (ATP) - And, unlike most internships in the aviation industry today, you'll also receive compensation by continuing to flight instruct at McAir Aviation. Here's how it works: Obtain your Private, through Certified Flight Instructor Certificates at McAir. Upon completion of your CFI, you will be interviewed for a flight instruction position at McAir, and, if eligible, become admitted into the SkyWest Enhanced Internship program. If you're selected and hired as a McAir CFI and admitted as a SkyWest Intern, you will receive many benefits from SkyWest Airlines as you build your flight time instructing at McAir:
- You will attend the SkyWest New Hire Orientation in either Salt Lake City or Denver.
- You will receive travel privileges on SkyWest-operated aircraft according to company policies and/or procedures.
- You'll assist SkyWest and McAir with projects, job fairs, recruitment events, and mentoring your students.
- You will be personally mentored by current SkyWest Pilots and afforded the opportunity to complete a jet transition course.
- Most importantly, you will be given a Date-of-Hire (DOH) with SkyWest Airlines at your orientation indicating the start of your conditional employment, giving you seniority over other potential SkyWest Employees not enrolled in the internship program.
A few more details...
- You must indicate to McAir Aviation prior to completion of your Instrument Rating if you'd like to participate in the EIP.
- Hiring as a McAir Employee (Certified Flight Instructor) is conditional upon meeting McAir's prerequisites, passing a Final Interview, and passing your Interview Flight and the FAA Part 141 Check Flight with our Chief Flight Instructor. Once you are accepted into the EIP, your continued participation in the program is based on your professionalism and job performance in the flight training environment and is at the sole discretion of McAir Aviation.
- Hiring as a SkyWest Employee (First Officer) after your internship is conditional upon meeting the SkyWest prerequisites, passing a Final Interview, and obtaining your ATP. Placement into a ground school or a hiring pool will be based on operational needs of SkyWest.
- You'll be assigned a SkyWest ground school date within the regular course of business and as Operational needs allow. Once offered, you will be treated the same as any existing SkyWest employee, which includes seniority within that class.
- If the class date is unknown, you will be placed in the pilot pool, in the order received. Once a class date is given, you will be placed at the top of the class, as a SkyWest employee.
Call McAir Aviation and ask to schedule a counseling session to discuss all the prerequisites and details of this fantastic opportunity!

New Engines |
Arrow Back Online!
Last month, as part of our ongoing efforts to always provide you with the best aircraft fleet available, Calvin, McAir's Director of Maintenance, installed a new engine in N2461N (a Cessna 172).
The Piper Arrow took a little bit longer as that particular engine model is not as common and readily available.
N800JA is back on the flight line and ready to schedule!

Aircraft Opportunities
|
NOW is the TIME!
You CAN own your own Airplane!
Business is Solid and we need more Aircraft!
With the new agreement with SkyWest, we are looking to add at least 4 Cessna 172's with both conventional and G1000 instrumentation to the flight line ASAP! This is a great opportunity and the timing is excellent.
For many, placing an aircraft online at McAir is a great way to offset some, if not all the cost of owning an aircraft while enjoying significant tax benefits.
It's simple:
- If you own an aircraft, you can earn money by renting it out to our clients.
- If you don't yet own one, we'll share what we know to help you buy one.
- We'll take care of the aircraft on your behalf.
Contact Gary, John, or Luke and together we will go through all the details! Send Gary an email or call McAir at 303-466-8730.
