Stay up to date!
From Sunday:

God couldn't wait to write down the text of Isaiah 9:6. I think God couldn't wait to tell folks how wonderful His Son would be when He finally came to earth.
Instead of just announcing it a day or two beforehand, 700 years before Jesus was born, God chose a prophet, a man very near and dear to Him, and said, "Isaiah, write this down and tell people about it. Here's what My Son is going to be like: he's going to be a wonderful counselor, a mighty God, an everlasting Father, and a prince of peace to you all."

Christmas Family:
None of us knows what tomorrow will bring. What position will you find yourself?
"Stuff" happens, and we do not always have control of that. As in many years' past, Slash Christian Church is sponsoring a family in need for Christmas. We will be helping a family of 2 young children - 6 and 3, with a third on the way. Hard times have now placed this family in a homeless situation but they should be moving into an apartment soon. With your help, maybe we can make a difference for this young family. A list of items has been made available to you. The young ages of these children will make purchasing items of toys and clothes so much fun this year. Let's help to clothe these young children. Let's help to buy a few toys. You may wish to combine efforts with more than one person to split the purchase of an item. Let's bring a few smiles and share your gifts with others. Let us be part of sharing the love that God has asked us to share. Let's once again make Christmas a little merrier!

Our finest gifts to the Christmas Offering support the work of regional ministries this Christmas. The Christian Church in Virginia regional ministry works to:

Connect congregations to each other, Foster faith development, Gather Disciples in camps, conferences, and assemblies, Nurture the development of a new generation of pastors, Assist churches in calling new ministers, Interpret the global mission of the Church, Represent the Church in ecumenical gatherings, Counsel and pray with those who are troubled of spirit, Lead the Church to address racism, Inspire leaders to experiment and create, Witness to the power of God to make things new.  Please give generously to this year's Christmas Offering.

Slash Christmas Card Post Office

You may use the free Slash Postal Service to pass along Christmas greetings to fellow members and regular visitors to our church. A mailbox will be placed in the back of the sanctuary where you can leave your Christmas Cards.
