The Center for Career Education & Professional Development has a new name thanks to support of PC alum, Jim Chirico '80 and his wife Bridget! 

While our name is new, our services and location (Slavin 108) remain the same but our summer hours are a little different. If you are looking to use the summer to gain clarity on your career goals, work on your resume, network or explore opportunities for the fall, schedule an appointment with a career coach now.

HOW TO: Use Handshake Like a Pro This Summer

One of our favorite online resources is HANDSHAKE, your launching point for all things careers! This website has everything you need to prepare for a coaching appointment, start your job search, or find events and workshops for professional development. Here are some of our top tips for using Handshake this summer!

1. Make Appointments: Meet with a career coach for a variety of questions & concerns, in-person or virtually.
2. Find Opportunities: Hundreds of jobs, internships, events, and workshops are posted weekly - even in the summer!
3. Explore Resources: Find class year checklists, resume templates, interview and internship tips, and MORE!

GET MOS CERTIFIED In 6 Sessions Or Less

Our workshops offer a structured setting to cover the material necessary to ace the certification exams. Classes meet for 6 sessions with the certification exam held on the last day (Word and PowerPoint courses have only 5 sessions!) All summer MOS workshops are virtual via Zoom.

Are you in need of a private, quiet setting for a virtual or telephone interview? The Chirico Career Center has three private interview rooms for students in Slavin 108! Interview rooms are available Monday through Thursday from 9 AM – 4 PM, and Fridays from 9-11 AM. Please make your reservation by calling our office at (401) 865-1290 or emailing us at [email protected] at least 48 hours in advance.

If you have an early morning or late afternoon interview, please call our office and we can help you secure a quiet location.
