Sleep is an essential part of human life and health.  Getting a good night's sleep can be difficult for many people.  Some have trouble falling asleep or even staying asleep.  Some may also have difficulty relaxing or calming down before bedtime.  It is recommended that we get seven hours of sleep per night on a regular basis, but more than a third of adults are not achieving this goal.  Are you one of them?

Insufficient sleep can affect work, personal relationships, physical abilities, and much more.  People who consistently miss out on quality sleep time could be harming their health.  Insufficient sleep has been linked to the development of many chronic diseases and conditions, including obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, and frequent mental distress.  The body, brain, and sleep are closely connected.  Giving the body sleep allows it to learn, remember, and perform. 

Do you have trouble calming down or relaxing before bedtime?  Here are a few tips that may help you:

-Keep a consistent bedtime
-Once you wake up, get up
-Avoid caffeine in the afternoon 
-No naps
-No exercise within 2 hours of sleep
-No alcohol within 1 1/2 hours of sleep time
-No eating within 3 hours of sleep time
-No email. computer, or TV within 30 minutes of  sleep
 time
-Write out what's on your mind
-Try our supplement of the month: Valerian 1:2

If you can't get to sleep:
-Don't lay more then 20 minutes
-Get up, walk the house, take a bath, read a relaxing book
 (set a time limit)
 

This Months Recipe:
             


Chicken w/Cheesy Mushroom Gravy:

Ingredients:

4 Boneless, skinless Chicken Breasts
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 packet Good Seasonings Italian  dressing  mix


 
Directions:

Place the chicken in a glass  baking dish
Mix together the remaining ingredients and pour over chicken. Cover and  bake  at 350 for one hour, or until the chicken is fully cooked. 

Makes 8 servings. Each serving is 1/2 chicken  breast  and 1/8 of the gravy.

Oil Uses:

  • Diffuse this oil to freshen the air, especially in rooms where children play or study.
  • Apply to the bottom of feet before bed as part of a bedtime ritual for your whole family.
  • Dilute with V-6™ Vegetable Oil Complex for a calming back massage before naps or bed.
  • Combine with Citrus Fresh™ for a bright, invigorating scent that's perfect for mornings before school or practice.
  • Add 4-5 drops to 1 cup Epsom salt for a calming bath at the start of the day or as part of an evening routine.

How to Use Topical :  

Topical: Dilute 1 drop with 1 drop of V-6™ Vegetable Oil Complex or olive oil. Apply to desired area as needed.
Aromatic: Diffuse up to 1 hour 3 times daily.
Caution: Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or have a medical condition, consult a health professional prior to use. Avoid direct sunlight or UV rays for up to 12 hours after applying product.
