Because the Delta variant is shown to spread more easily, the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) recommends everyone, both fully vaccinated and unvaccinated people continue to mask to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and protect one another.

Beginning January 1, 2022, some Medicare Supplement Health Plans are changing who their fitness reimbursement coverage will be. We ask you to confirm with your Health Insurance to see if they have the following listed below. The Whitney Senior Center is enrolled with these plans and will be ready to accept.

Santa to a Senior Program
|
The Home Instead Be a Santa to a Senior Program identifies seniors who may not otherwise receive gifts during the holiday season and finds out what items they need. The purpose of the program is to provide holiday cheer and gift giving to seniors who are least likely to receive a present during the holiday season, are lonely and financially challenged. Home Instead is partnering with the Whitney Senior Center this year to put on this event.
If you are interested in receiving a gift, you are welcome to view the wish list and fill out the form.
To Donate:
- Find a participating Be a Santa to a Senior location. (Whitney Senior Center will be a location mid November)
- Remove bulb with senior’s gift request from a tree.
- Purchase the requested gift listed on the bulb through Amazon.
- We will gather as a group to wrap the presents.

AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP volunteers help tackle our nation’s most pressing challenges. We offer a variety of one-time and on-going volunteer opportunities within 150 regional sites. There is no cost or minimum number of service hours for RSVP volunteers.
If you are age 55+ and live in Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, or Wright Counties, attend a one hour RSVP Start-Up session at Whitney Senior Center to learn more. Upcoming sessions include December 2, 9, or 16 at 10:30 am.

Participants will receive a WHIT packet outlining basic nutrition guidance, a positive mindset, and strategies for developing healthy habits.
