If you purchased a hard copy of this year's Directory, but have not yet received one, please contact Megan Ciaramitaro at If you opted to receive an electronic copy and believe it has not yet been sent to you, please check your Junk Mail/SPAM folder prior to contacting Megan.

Kid Stuff Book

The KidStuff Book fund raiser is officially over.  If you have not already done so, either return a payment of $25.00 for the book that was sent home with your child, or please return the book to the school.  Remember, using just a few coupons from this book could save you more than the $25.00 cost of the book!

Project Bundle-Up

On November 13th, a WTAE Meteorologist along with the Carnegie Science Center will be coming to Sloan Elementary for an assembly.

We would like to thank them for coming by collecting monetary donations for Project Bundle-Up.

WTAE Project Bundle-Up puts warm coats and gloves on local children in need.  Help keep our children warm this winter season.  The money you help us raise benefits thousands of your friends and neighbors across Western Pennsylvania.

Please send your donations in an envelope marked with your students name, teacher & Project Bundle-Up.  If sending a check, please make it payable directly to Project Bundle Up.  All donations should be sent in by Friday, October 25th.  Once again, the classroom that collects the most donations will be able to place their personal items in the I Spy Table located in the lobby.

Blue & Gold Day will be on November 13th to show WTAE our school spirit!

Original Works

Please remember that the Original Works Artwork program is currently running here at Sloan Elementary. The deadline to turn orders in and get products back before Thanksgiving is: October 28, 2013. The Original Works Artwork program allows children to create something special and have their artwork forever on display on mugs, ceramic plate, t-shirts, cards, garden flags, night lights, magnets, cellphone cases, etc... Did you also know that you can use a photo that you've taken? Do you have a favorite picture from vacation by the beach, of a sunset, the kids/family? As long as the photo isn't taken by a professional, you can put it onto any Original Works Artwork merchandise. Also, this unique and fun fundraiser is not limited to your children here at Sloan, it is GREAT for the whole family. Please get in touch with Shelly Traphagen at and she can get you extra packets. The school office also has extra packets for the taking. The PTO website: has links for art ideas and also a link directly to the Original Works Artwork website. If you get time, please check out this video from Original Works Artwork on their fabulous program.
