Survival of the Slowest Exhibit at Summer Adventure
Have you had a chance to visit our traveling exhibit, Survival of the Slowest, this summer? This fascinating exhibit offers an up-close look at a variety of slow-moving animals while exploring how moving slowly can actually be a survival advantage in the wild.
The star of the exhibit is, of course, the sloth! J.J., a Linnaeus's two-toed sloth, is calling Roper Mountain home this summer. Be sure to join us for our daily sloth talks at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., when our animal care staff enters J.J.'s habitat to share insights about his care and behavior. Guests can watch him enjoy snacks and enrichment activities, observe training sessions, and learn what it takes to care for one of nature's most fascinating animals. In fact, this is often the best opportunity to see J.J. on the move!
Looking for an even more memorable experience? This summer only, guests can participate in an exclusive VIP experience that includes the rare opportunity to step inside J.J.'s habitat. During this behind-the-scenes encounter, you'll meet J.J. up close while participating in a feeding session. You'll also enjoy private animal ambassador encounters in Harrison Hall of Natural Science led by one of our Natural Science Specialists. These limited-capacity experiences can be reserved through the Summer Adventure section of our website. Tours are filling quickly, so be sure to reserve your spot today!
*Please note that animal interactions and specific program elements are subject to change based on animal behavior.*
