Actionable News & Tips for Your Small Business
In honor of #HispanicHeritageMonth, we will be sharing a new story each Monday in October of Hispanic entrepreneurs who are building economic independence and following their dreams.
Meet Hecho con Amor: Amanda, Jared and their treats.
What inspired you to start your business?

With Jared, my husband, being in the Coast Guard, we’ve been sent to places that don’t have a hispanic community. We’re from El Paso, Tx, a border town with a large hispanic population. We miss home but most of all the panaderias. We decided to make our own goods and bring a part of our culture to not just our home but spread it with others as well.

What is the most rewarding part of being a business owner?

The most rewarding part of the business is seeing people enjoy our goods and showing us their first raw impression(s). They can tell everything we bake ish echo con amor.

What is the most challenging aspect of managing your business?

Since we’re a family business doing this with our 2 very young children can be most challenging. But given that they’re our motivation we push on so we can inspire them to be proud of their roots and share it with others.

What do your customers rave about you/your products?

Our customers really love our empanadas and bizcochos.

As you look to the horizon/future, what are you most excited about?

We’re hoping to spread our name so we can give more satisfaction to our community, through their stomachs!

You can learn more about Hecho con Amor including where to buy their treats on their Facebook page here.
