Small Building Repair and Improvement Requests
Formation of a Buildings and Grounds Committee
Terry Hurst, our Junior Warden, would like to know what requests you have for small building repairs you have noticed need to be completed, or other small building improvement you would like to suggest. Once a list has been compiled and prioritized, Terry will work with the Buildings and Grounds Committee and anyone who would like to volunteer to help, to have these small items addressed and repaired.
Please email your suggestions directly to Terry at twjhurst@gmail.com.
As a reminder, we are forming a Trinity Buildings and Grounds Committee, which Terry will lead. This committee will assist with the review and prioritization of buildings and grounds repairs and improvements, and items such as obtaining bids for work that needs to be done by outside contractors or companies.
If you are interested in serving on this committee, please contact Terry or our parish office at trinitychurchhamilton@gmail.com or 513-896-6755.

You're Invited to Attend the
Joy Bible Study
Beginning October 10
at 6:00 PM
at CMC Golden House
Thank you to Lauren Marsh for providing this information and invitation to join the Joy Bible Study.
This bible study will begin on Thursday, October 10 at 6:00 p.m. and will continue on the second Thursday of each month for 8 months. The focus will be on finding joy in ordinary situations. The hustle and bustle of everyday life might cause us to lose sight of the simple pleasures that God has provided for us. Please join us as we study Paul's letter to the Philippians.
There is a book that needs to be purchased prior to the first meeting, and it is available on the Amazon website. The title and cover are shown above.
There is limited capacity, so if you would like to participate, please RSVP by email to daphlee365@gmail.com. The bible study will be held at the Golden House (address will be provided to those attending).

Help Needed with Trinity's Online Worship
Trinity has a robust online presence with Sunday morning worship, Compline, and a Word and a Prayer on Facebook Live, all led by parishioners.
We are looking for additional lay leadership to help with this vital ministry. Many people attend our online sessions, who are not able to attend in-person Sunday worship.
What is involved?
For Compline: Lead the Order for Compline on page 127 of the Book of Common Prayer on Facebook Live at 8:30 PM, on one, two, or three nights a week. We are especially looking for new leaders for Monday evenings at 8:30 PM, but other nights may also be available. The Order for Compline is a simple short set of prayers and Scripture reading before bedtime lasting about 10 minutes. Everything you need to do is easily laid out in the Prayer Book, and training will be provided.
For a Word and a Prayer: A Word and a Prayer was started during the Covid pandemic as a way to keep us connected and address what was going on. It has continued as a daily 9:30 AM reflection given by several parishioners. The reflection does not need to be complicated. It can be as simple as sharing a psalm, canticle, hymn, or piece of Scripture, reflecting a bit on what it means to you, and then ending with a prayer -- the Lord's Prayer, one from the Prayer Book, or one you compose. The whole thing can be as short or long as you make it. Training will be provided.
Note: The leaders fill in for one another
when we have scheduling conflicts.
This ministry of worship continues
to be an important means of building fellowship between parishioners and evangelism to the wider community.
If you are interested in learning more or would like to help in this ministry, please contact our parish office at trinitychurchhamilton@gmail.com or 513-896-6755

An Update from our Sr. Warden, Jennifer Elliott,
on the Search for a New Priest:
I wanted to provide an update on both our short-term and long-term priest search.
The Diocese has a very helpful and structured process for this search, and there are many steps we will be undertaking over the coming months. Please know both our Vestry and the leadership of the Diocese of Southern Ohio are working diligently together on this process.
One of the first steps is to determine if in the short-term, we want to have an Interim Priest-in-Charge or just use supply clergy every Sunday. Supply clergy primarily only assist with Sunday worship and pastoral care needs, while an Interim Priest-in-Charge will take on the regular full-time duties of a priest in running the church. Our vestry unanimously voted to request an Interim Priest-in-Charge, so we have a priest's presence in the office during the week and someone helping to lead our daily activities while we go through the long-term search process.
The diocese is working to locate an Interim Priest-in-Charge for Trinity. This would be someone who is not interested in being our long-term priest, but would be committed to us for the next approx. 12-18 months while we go through the discernment and search process. We are hopeful that we will have someone in place in this role within the next couple of months.
However, we will have some continuity over the coming weeks as the Rev. Kip Colegrove has graciously offered to serve as our supply priest until we have an Interim Priest-in-Charge assigned to us. I know everyone loves having Father Kip with us on Sundays, and we are very grateful he is willing to serve in this capacity!
For the long-term priest search, we are currently gathering together the initial documents requested by the diocese, such as Trinity's bylaws, and a 5-year financial forecast, so that we can formally start the discernment process with the diocese. We also had to decide if we want the Vestry to serve as the priest search committee, or if we want to form a separate search committee that may have one or two Vestry members on it, but is completely separate from the Vestry. Our Vestry members unanimously voted to have a separate search committee formed, and we will begin that formation process over the coming months.
Thank you to our Vestry, who has already accomplished a lot concerning this process in a short amount of time!
I will continue to provide updates as we have them.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at (513) 218-7817 or jenniferelliott32@gmail.com, or reach out to any of our Vestry members.
~ Jennifer Elliott, Sr. Warden and Music Director

Pill Bottle Collection for
Matthew 25 Ministries
We are continuing to collect empty plastic pill bottles at Trinity for the time being, but they must meet the guidelines below. If the guidelines are not able to be followed, we will need to discontinue collection at the church in the future. Individuals can still take the bottles directly to Matthew 25 Ministries in Blue Ash, OH.
For many years, Trinity has collected empty plastic pill bottles for donation to Matthew 25 Ministries. They are used in shipments of medical supplies.
Matthew 25 Ministries has now changed the requirements for these donations. Previously, labels could be left on the donated bottles, but now labels (and any glue residue) must be removed from the bottles.
If you donate pill bottles to Trinity's collection bin, they must meet the following guidelines:
Acceptable collection items include:
- Prescription and over-the-counter pill bottles
- Large and small pill bottles
- Pill bottles with and without secure caps (child-resistant)
Pill bottle donations should adhere to the following guidelines:
- Bottles included in shipments of medical supplies must have an all plastic lid.
-
All labels should be removed, leaving no glue or residue. An easy way to remove the labels is to soak the bottles in rubbing alcohol.
- All bottles and lids should be washed in very hot water and dish soap, rinsed, and dried thoroughly.
- Caps should be placed back onto clean, dried bottles.
- Clean, recapped bottles should be placed into large resealable bags marked “Clean Bottles.” These will be included in shipments of medical supplies.

Sign Up to Donate Altar Flowers
Dates in October and November are available.
If you would like to provide the altar flowers for a Sunday service, please contact Sue Samoviski at 513-478-8918 or suesamo63@gmail.com to reserve a date(s).
You may choose to call a florist to order the flowers, or you can purchase the flowers at the grocery store and make two arrangements for the altar. Or, you could provide flowers from your garden or potted plants.
Clear plastic vases are available at church if you need them or you can arrange them directly into the altar vases.
Another option is to send a monetary donation to Trinity in lieu of flowers and in memory of or in honor of your loved ones.
If you do that, please be sure to let Sue know the
dedication of your donation.
