Congratulations to the first winner of the Pitch DIA (Dalton Innovation Accelerator) Le-Glue by Tripp Phillips! Tripp is a sixth grader at Dalton Middle School! 

PitchDIA is a new competition for startup entrepreneurs in the Dalton area with prizes valued at over $30,000. 

The primary goal of the PitchDIA competition is to further entrepreneurial growth in the north Georgia area. Not only will the winners of the competition enjoy significant startup funding, free office space, and other  prizes , participants will also benefit from significant exposure to seasoned businesspersons and professionals with deep connections in our community.

New Mountain Bike Trail Will Anchor Whitfield County Green Space
An intermediate mountain bike trail that will anchor nearly 1,000 acres of green space on Rocky Face Ridge in the outskirts of Dalton, Ga., has received state funding in recent weeks.

The 8-mile trail is planned to eventually offer walking trails, access to Civil War sites, open space for public use and a pond for fishing.

Georgia's 2016 SBA Exporter of the Year for 2016, Carl Hazenberg, enjoys telling potential customers that his Woodstock Company, Everlast Synthetic Products, has done business on
six of the seven continents. When someone asks where they haven't sold their seawall product, the joke is on. "We haven't been able to find a client in Antarctica," he says, grinning.
