November 16th a Memorable Day for Whitfield County
Dedicated to the memory of Anna Sue Shaw, the institute will be a regional center for the care of children who are experiencing the challenges of autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder or developmental delays.
Hamilton has engaged pediatricians, specialists and highly-regarded national experts to consider the need for a designated facility to provide comprehensive care and support to children with unique developmental needs.
"We are excited about this major milestone of growth at Dalton State," said Dalton State President Margaret Venable. "The physical expansion of our business school facilities is long overdue, and the extraordinary gift that Lamar and Ann Wright made to enable this project was the catalyst for this wonderful event."
Both groundbreaking ceremonies took place on November 16, a memorable day for our community!

Unemployment in Dalton Falls to Decade Low

Dalton/Whitfield County was one of 48 communities across the nation to be recognized as a Pacesetter Honoree by the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading. The community received the award as recognition for its excellence in innovative community literacy and early childhood language strategies through its Get Georgia Reading Campaign.
