Thank You for Not Calling

Tired of getting calls from unknown or unlisted numbers? Pennsylvanians can breathe a sigh of relief in a few months thanks to a newly minted state law that aims to minimize those pesky calls from flooding your phone. The new law bans telephone solicitations on legal holidays and also ends a requirement that those on the state's do-not-call registry have to renew their listing every five years. As an extra bonus business phone customers can also now sign up for the do-not-call list (yay!). You can read more about the other components of the law here.
Huntingdon County Youth Leadership Professional Networking Luncheon

On Thursday, September 26 we hosted the Professional Networking Luncheon at Juniata College for our 11th graders in the program. The day started with Juniata College President Jim Troha giving a warm welcome to the students and guests. Next we had Juniata College Senior Xander Mansberger give a presentation on how to get the most out of a campus tour. Then we gave the students a campus map and sent them on their way to find certain important places on campus. They had chaperones who were available to provide assistance if needed. Next was a delicious lunch provided by Juniata College. We had business professionals and guidance counselors sit round table with the students and discuss how they got to where they are in their career now and advice they could give to young students preparing for life after graduation. We ended the day with a presentation from Tammy Stuber on options after high school.
