COVID ASSISTANCE
SBA Breaking News Update: PPP General Funding Exhausted, CFI Funding Still Available (New)

After more than a year of operation and serving more than eight million small businesses, funding for the Paycheck Protection Program has been exhausted. The SBA will continue funding outstanding approved PPP applications, but new qualifying applications will only be funded through Community Financial Institutions, financial lenders who serve underserved communities. The SBA is committed to delivering economic aid through the many COVID relief programs it is currently administering and beyond.

Per the Economic Aid Act, a Community Financial Institution (CFI) is one of the four types of lenders. 
  • Community Financial Development Institution (CDFI)
  • Minority Depository Institution (MDI)
  • Community Development Corporation (CDC)
  • Microlender Intermediary

Shuttered Venue Operators Grant

The Shuttered Venue Operators Grant application has reopened. The SBA has provided the following resources for businesses that are considering applying.

  • Applicant user guide and FAQ: For help with the application process, refer to the applicant user guide and FAQ.
  • Checklist: Use the checklist to make sure you have everything you need to complete your application. 
  • Call Center: For Shuttered Venue Operators Grant application portal technical assistance such as a password reset, browser suggestions, or how to use the multi-factor authentication with an app and the QR code, applicants can call 1-800-659-2955 or, for the deaf and hard-of-hearing 1-800-877-8339 and follow the prompts to SVOG assistance. The call center is open through the weekend from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EDT.

The Mohawk Valley SBDC has partnered with StreamSkill.com (part of the Simon Sez IT family) to provide QuickBooks Desktop training. This hybrid program includes training videos from StreamSkill.com along with two virtual classroom sessions with QuickBooks experts from the Mohawk Valley SBDC.

Small Business Survival (New)

Join a panel of experts collaborating to share their insights on strategies to help ensure the survival of your small business. Many have been able to navigate the challenges brought forth by the pandemic. We will be joined by experienced professionals in accounting, risk management, inventory control, and sales. After a 45 minute panel discussion, participants will have an opportunity for Q &A. Attend either in-person at ThINCubator, or virtually via MaxUC by Northland. Choose to add lunch if desired. Registration ends Tuesday, June 1st.
