All guys are invited to this 10-week audio series titled, 5 Things Every Christian Needs to Grow by R.C. Sproul. ONE TIME Gather & Pray (THIS Wednesday, Feb. 7)

This is for everyone. Jason & Marni Smith are hosting this "Gather & Pray" kick off evening. Feel free to bring an appetizer or dessert to share, or just bring yourself. :) Participate at your own level of comfort - pray silently, just sit and experience, pray out loud, etc. Prayer is simply a conversation with God and doesn't require eloquence. It just requires presence. Come join us as we enjoy an evening of conversation with each other and our Heavenly Father. Contact: Jason Smith at [email protected] or 678-858-8199.

INSPIRATION (Super Bowl themed)

Quotes of the Week

“My Christian faith plays a role in everything that I do, I always ask God to lead me in the right direction and let me be who I am for His name. So it has a role in everything that I do. Obviously we’ll be on that huge stage in the Super Bowl that He’s given me, and I want to make sure I’m glorifying Him while I do it.” - Patrick Mahomes (QB, Kansas City Chiefs)

"Every time we step on the field, I want to bring God glory. Even when we lose, I point to God and thank Him for the opportunity." - Brock Purdy (QB, San Francisco 49ers)

Verse of the Week

But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith... Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 3:7-9, 12-14

Proverb of the Week

"Do not gaze at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly! In the end it bites like a snake and poisons like a viper. Your eyes will see strange sights, and your mind will imagine confusing things. You will be like one sleeping on the high seas, lying on top of the rigging. “They hit me,” you will say, “but I’m not hurt!  They beat me, but I don’t feel it!
When will I wake up  so I can find another drink?” - Proverbs 23:31-35

VISION & VALUES

The vision of Good News Church GA is "to experience and express LOVE from God to others." The verse that undergirds our vision is Galatians 5:5b, “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” We value people, community, relationships, prayer, and Bible reading. We also value being able to be yourself. We’re all struggling with something, so there’s no need to pretend that we have it all together.

MISSION

The mission of Good News Church GA is "to connect with people and build relationships through community workshops, neighborhood-focused ministry, serving local needs, mentoring, and worship."

Need a daily Bible reading plan? Drue's favorite is The Bible with Nicky and Pippa Gumbel.
