Roberts Retires After 40 Years of Ministry

Congratulations to Dr. Raymond Roberts on his retirement. River Road Church (Richmond), where Raymond has served as pastor since 2015, will celebrate his ministry this Sunday at 10 a.m. We praise God for leading Raymond to service as a minister of your Word.

Share photos of your ministry in action. Submit images to be included in the 2024-2025 Presbyterian Planning Calendar. PC(USA) invites congregations, worshiping communities, mid councils, camps, conference centers, and education centers to contribute content by February 14.

Youth Groups Invited to VCU

The Pace Center campus ministry at VCU invites area youth groups to "Youth Group @ Pace" on Sunday, January 28 from 5-7 p.m. Youth groups will play games, have an opportunity for service learning, and share in a meal with one another. A donation of $5 per person is suggested. RSVP to Rev. Russ Kerr.

Discover what GenOn Ministries offers to support intergenerational church communities. Attend a free Zoom event on February 8 at 2:00 p.m. Explore foundational tenets of intergenerational ministry, paths to develop intergenerational community, and resources that support intergenerational gatherings.

Conference for Small Churches To Be Held in February

Leaders of smaller churches are invited to attend the Gift of Small, a conference offered by the Synod of South Atlantic February 29-March 4. Held on St. Simons Island, Georgia, the event will explore the powerful impact smaller congregations have on the lives of individuals and communities. The synod defines small as having 200 or fewer members.

Follow the History of the Civil Rights Movement

Interested in learning about the history of the Civil Rights Movement, in the locations where history happened? Apply to join the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program's travel study seminar, May 28-June 6. Start in Alabama, visiting Birmingham, Montgomery, and Selma, before traveling to Jackson, Mississippi and concluding in Memphis, Tennessee. Explore historically important sites, learn about the lives of the people who made up the movement and wrestle with the legacies of racism and white supremacy. Applications are due by February 23.

BOP Grant Promotes Clergy Wellness

The Board of Pensions’ Clergy Wellness Support grant allows ministers to participate in programs that address vocational, spiritual, mental, and physical wellness. One program approved for the grant is the Clergy Program at Davidson Centre for the Professions. Apply now to participate in an upcoming session. Board of Pensions will cover the full cost of the program and all related travel expenses.
