Kathryn Sollmann,

A woman who stays on top of ‘work + life’ issues tagged me in a recent LinkedIn post where a professional woman announced she was leaving the workforce to be at home with her young son. The post basically went viral with nearly 13,000 'likes' from women (and a few men)—and more than 500 comments showing overwhelming support for her decision to change her title from Public Affairs professional at a major company to Family CEO.
Find out if this is a wise decision!

CRAFTING YOUR FLEXIBLE CAREER
TO MATCH YOUR LIFESTYLE
"Make work fit life." - Kathryn Sollmann
This is an exciting time for working women! We are exploring flexible career options this month with two brilliant authors, Flex Career Expert, Kathryn Sollmann and Encore Career Expert, Nancy Collamer.
I’ve been fortunate to have designed a flexible career both when my daughters were young, and later when my step-father and mother needed me to step in as the Designated Caregiver®. I actually built an office onto my home and saw clients there. I later moved back to the corporate office while my daughters were in school, but ten years later when I was 47, I retired from my financial planning career to work virtually from home again to launch Smart Women’s Empowerment and Smart Women’s Coaching so I could write, speak
, and teach women how to create prosperity and while living their purpose.

AYURVEDA
FOOD COMBINING
By Dr. Keesha Ewers, SWE Contributing Expert
Ayurveda, the 5,000-year-old sister science of Yoga, taught that certain foods ought not be combined with other foods if digestion is to be kept healthy and optimal. (Yes, Ayurvedic food combining was a thing thousands of years ago!) When you think about it, this only makes common sense. Easy to digest foods, such as watermelon, will get stuck behind harder to digest foods, like meats, if they are eaten together. This increases the risk for food to putrefy in the small intestine, causing small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). Proper food combining can enhance absorption of nutrients and improve digestive health, which leads to better health.
Discover the secret to Ayurvedic
food combining!

BOOK SPOTLIGHT OF THE MONTH
|
AMBITION REDEFINED
BY
KATHRYN SOLLMANN
Ambition Redefined is a timely alternative to current women’s business books that define professional ambition and success as climbing the corporate ladder. In fact, the corporate ladder is not a path that all women want or should feel pressured to follow. The book’s focus is on the more critical and widespread workplace issue for everyday women—to always work in a way that fits their lives alongside their two major caregiving roles: for children and aging parents. This is an important book for women at all stages in their life. Don't miss Kathryn on Smart Women Talk Radio on May 28th.
