Smeeding to be inducted in highly esteemed political social science academy
The American Academy of Political and Social Science (AAPSS) has named La Follette School Professor Tim Smeeding as its John Kenneth Galbraith Fellow for 2017. Each year, AAPSS invites a small group of outstanding scholars and public servants to join the academy in recognition of the contributions they have made to improving society through research and public service. Students, faculty, staff triple Penny War giving over 2015
La Follette School faculty, staff, and students tripled their 2016 Penny War giving over last year - collecting $607.33 for two student-selected charities. Finishing at -$107.82 ($204.96 collected), faculty and staff won the Penny War, which ran from October 18 until noon November 22. Read more.
Innovative projects earn Gladfelter Awards
A team of public employees in Washington and Ozaukee counties along with two co-workers at the Wisconsin Department of Employee Trust Funds (ETF) will receive 2016 Lloyd D. Gladfelter Awards for Government Innovation on Thursday, February 2. Read more.
Moynihan book addresses performance measurement, budgeting process
A new book co-authored by La Follette School Director Don Moynihan analyzes the difficulties that national governments have experienced in linking measurement of performance and results to the annual budget process. Read more.
