Thanks for the photo submissions. Looks like there is life away from barbeque. Congratulations Billy Blackmon for your 1st place photo. You've got beautiful view. John Guzman, Larry Dildine, and Robert Drzymala also spent some time enjoying their spare time away from the smokin' trail.

IBCA Work Safe Committee

The Work Safe Committee will meet Sunday, September 6th, to discuss the COVID situation and how Texas and surrounding states are fairing with the return to school and sports. Texas is seeing a downward trend in the number of confirmed cases and hospitalizations. Hopefully, this will continue to be the case over the next 3 weeks and beyond. After the committee meets and the findings are presented to the rest of the board, a notice will be sent to all members and promoters. As before the moratorium on sanctioning in July, it is expected that the previous safety protocols will remain in effect and possibly additional guidelines for events. Your continued patience and support for IBCA is greatly appreciated.

Progress is being made on our new website. It's been a process and like most remodeling projects there are a lot of unknowns buried behind the facade which have made this project take more time than anticipated. Mark Keeney and his staff at BBQ Data along with our own Kevin Miller have put a lot of time, blood, sweat, tears and gray hair into making sure we have a crisp, clean and stable site that will be user friendly. They are going through the final tweeks and polish before we make it live.

IBCA Homepage Banner Photo

Looking for one picture that will be the banner photo on the homepage on the new IBCA website. The board will review submissions and select the winning photo at the board meeting on 10/23. Photos should represent IBCA or competition barbeque. Please no pictures featuring barbeque products, i.e. pits, charcoal, seasonings, etc. Photos can be submitted to [email protected] by 10/22/20.

Hilton San Antonio Airport - Rates are $89/night. Room block will be held until 10/7/2020. Rate will be honored after 10/7, if rooms are available.

Banquet Tickets are available for purchase. Meal choices must be selected at the time of purchase for all parties.

Door Prize Raffles

Don't forget about the raffles on Friday night at the Welcome Reception and Saturday immediately following the membership meeting. There be will free entries, gift baskets, and lots of other items. This year we have a Short Rib Drum Smoker donated by Bennie Koger over $600 value and a Traeger 780 Pro Grill with shelf and cover.

Reminder - Free entries are non-transferable after the close of the raffle on Saturday.
