ATPF AWARDED GRANT FROM
NORDSON CORPORATION
We would like to extend a HUGE thank you to the Nordson Corporation Foundation for their recent grant of $4,000 to support the ATPF Early Intervention Preschool Screening Program! This grant will help ATPF reach our goal of providing FREE early intervention screenings to all 10,300 Head Start preschoolers on an annual basis, with the ultimate goal of kindergarten readiness. We are thrilled about this new partnership and look forward to working with the Nordson Corporation Foundation in the future!

Huge thanks to Speech Language Pathologist Michelle Connelly, Director of ATPF Bay Area Early Intervention Preschool Screening Program for expanding our Bay Area screenings since she joined our team in 2016. Thanks to Michelle's hard work, we have tripled the number of annual screenings we have provided to the Bay Area community in the last year!

We will be recognizing and highlighting a new intern or volunteer in every e-newsletter - this week we are sending extra love and thanks to the SDSU Volunteers Dayan Corral and Alondra Barajas! In 2017, Dayan was an intern at ATPF during her junior year at High Tech High Chula Vista, and three years later, she has continued to volunteer with ATPF while balancing student life at San Diego State University. She also introduced her friend, Alondra Barajas, to our ATPF community this year, and together they have volunteered at many of our big program events, including our 8th Annual USD Baseball Meet & Greet, monthly Core Team Meetings, and 12th Annual Program Managers Meeting.

You and your family are invited to join us for a "virtual" musical playgroup using Zoom! A URL link, meeting ID, and password will be shared with all parents who RSVP. All you have to do is click the link and sign in with the information provided. It's free and you can participate from computer, ipad or phone (you would need to download the app to use a phone).
We will learn valuable interaction, communication, and social skills through group music-making in a fun and friendly environment. The ATPF playgroups are facilitated by board-certified music therapists from the Music Therapy Center of California.

Every workshop is different and provides an opportunity for our children and families to help out on the farm, play in the children's garden, pet therapy goats and chickens, and create a healthy lunch with produce they pick fresh from on the farm.

Calling all ATPF Parents of kids 13 & under! We are so excited to partner with Heart and Hooves Therapy for a fun outdoors workshop! Come on out to the ranch and enjoy 2 hours of learning outdoors about mini horse safety, knowledge and interacting with them. Each kid will be paired up with a mini horse and handler for the duration of the session. Together they will learn to correctly approach, handle and groom their mini horse, as well as lead them through the obstacle course while playing educational games. We will have a group game working on patience, listening, focus, taking turns and respect. Then we will have horseshoes game, roping cow head to learn on and a snack!
