Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Snellville Lions

On Sunday, September 18, 2022, the Snellville Lions Club celebrated their 70th Anniversary at the Snellville Senior Center. The Mayor of Snellville, Barbara Bender, presented the Club with a proclamation recognizing this momentous occasion, one from the city of Snellville and one from the State of Georgia. In attendance representing the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation were Beth Ehrhardt, Nanon Morrison and Kaelin Hill.


Lion’s motto is “We Serve” and serving is what the Snellville Lions Club do. The Club awarded Lion Steve Johnson the Volunteer of the year Award for all his work within the Club and at the Recycle Center located at the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation. Marcia Anderson-Esson and Harold Walker, two of the frequent Recycle Center volunteers, were also honored at this event. When asked what the 70th Anniversary meant to Marcia Anderson-Esson, she said “We wanted to show how strong our club history is by honoring all those that have had a hand in leading this club, in doing so we are Remembering our past…Preparing for a better future!


Snellville Lions have been helping others in their community over the years with their multiple service activities and consistently lead all other Lion Clubs in regards to annual volunteer hours at the GLLF Recycle Center.
