Your donations will directly impact the students of the Snohomish School District through scholarships, classroom and district-wide grants that will make our students' aspirations and hopes a reality.

We appreciate the 35 plus student volunteers who helped to make this event successful along with the Glacier Peak High School Choir, Glacier Peak Photography students, Marine Corps JROTC students from Snohomish, Glacier Peak and Monroe High Schools. Also a big shout out to the Glacier Peak Drumline!

We want to thank our wonderful guest speakers for sharing their experience on the importance of Career & Technical Education, supporting the trade industry and how SEF has directly impacted these areas in both education and in our local work force:

  • Keynote speaker Matt Poischbeg - Vice President and General Manager of Sea-Lect Plastics Corporation in Everett
  • Matt Johnson - 2018 Washington Association for CTE "Teacher of the Year" and Snohomish High School, Advanced Manufacturing teacher
  • Nate Walchenbach - Boeing 777 Structures Mechanic and student at EVCC as well as a 2018 Glacier Peak High School graduate
“We are so fortunate to have a school district that has a first class CTE program and that we have a community that supports our foundation so that we can help with these programs. In a “World of Change,” we need to make sure that we have something for all students so that they can be engaged and excited to attend school. College is not for all students, and we need to be aware of that. The choices for our students should be looking at how we can work in a global market for all the trades and career fields,” said
Patty Venema , Snohomish Education Foundation Board member and Breakfast Committee Chair.

Your Donations at Work!
We often receive letters and emails thanking us for the various ways the Snohomish Education Foundation supports the students and teachers in our district.

As you continue to partner with SEF, we hope you know how your generosity has encouraged our community in so many ways!

Here are a few excerpts from thank you notes and emails we have received recently...

Shelly Dearmon
  • Totem Falls Teacher (26-year teacher, 1st year with Snohomish School District)
  • Classroom Grant Recipient

Thank you and the Foundation for your generosity. A couple of weeks ago, you came to Totem Falls and awarded me with an SEF grant. I was over the moon, just thinking about the increased opportunities our students will now have to engage in reading and discussing books that are culturally relevant.

Megan Sloan
  • Cathcart Elementary, Literacy Support Specialist
  • Classroom Grant Recipient

I want to thank you so much for the SEF grants you awarded to me at Cathcart Elementary! One girl is reading Saving Winslow and says it is the first chapter book she has read in two years! Another boy read Louisiana's Way Home and read it in two days! I heard two kids say they are loving reading recently and I went home with tears in my eyes that day.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
